This thread seemed to have died off...hoping to revive it a bit.

For those of you who have the 3D version, how much of the film is in 3D? Is it worth upgrading to the 3D version?

I am a bit concerned because it is a dark film, and the 3D glasses make it even darker.

Thoughts on if I should get it and length of 3D content?

I can only answer one of those questions: the bulk of the film which takes place on the Grid is in 3D, while the real world scenes are 2D.

FWIW, it is one of my favorite 3D releases. If you are a fan of the movie, and a fan of 3D, it is worth an upgrade

I can use DMR points to get it and I think I will. I wonder if it will include the slipcover.

I only just watched this in 3D for the first time and didn't find the 3D that impressive, which has to do with how dark the production design is. I didn't think that the film overall looked too dark, the 3D just didn't pop because of the high contrast look of the film.

I was too busy looking at her breasts and butt to notice. Try doing that instead of looking at her face.

Can someone explain what Clue was going to do with his army? He was planning to enter the real world with his army and try to take over the world? Wouldnt a real-world army instantly be able to stop Clue's army?

CLU was naive.

I don't remember if he knew everything about the real world, but he was certainly determined to explore a new frontier since he had only been stuck in his world.

Well he could probably keep creating soldiers or "programs" until our armies were defeated.

They are making a Tron light cycle Lego set. I sure would love a Lego Tron video game. Those Lego games are fun!

Clu was Clueless about the outside world. Sorry for the word link, but although he might have not know what to expect out there, if his digital army could become solid beings, it's very possible he could've taken over the armies of the world and become a new ruler in his quest for more power beyond the digital realm. A crazy concept that no doubt inspired The Matrix series with the original Tron film from 1982.

I was glad to hear the cast would return for Tron 3, only to have Disney revoke the chances of it happening and put all their efforts into Marvel and Star Wars, and their growing live action remakes... At least find a way to make it happen while lowering the budget to more reasonable limits, like 100 million or less instead of $250 million, which is too risky for a Tron movie.

I thought they were going to come back to score a Tron 3, IIRC interest was expressed for it. I guess that's off the cards then.
