I watched it for shits n giggles but it was mostly giggles. Obviously didnt look very good, but was fun none the less. Would absolutely love a proper 3d conversion, even a new transfer would suffice at this point. The japanese versions arent too bad, like the european cut and theatrical look great. Extended cut looks pretty shabby though.
Thanks - I was kind of wondering about the Japanese versions.

I would like to know this too. It appears there hasn't been a 'definitive' release yet to replace my DVD Ultimate Edition.

The U.K. disc looks the best for the U.S. theatrical cut (best cut IMHO). It and the U.S. disc come from the same master, but the U.K. disc has less DNR applied to it. However, the overall difference is marginal. It's region free by the way.

Yeah, ha, just checked Ebay now.

Was hoping they would re-release it as a steelbook (like what they did recently with Day Of The Dead) but I think they no longer hold the rights to the film?

Would love to see Scream Factory take a shot of the next release.

Seems like the AU release is struck from the exact same master as the UK BD. Not 100% sure but Umbrella used Arrow's transfer for Night of the Living Dead, don't see why they wouldn't do the same for the other two they've released.

I was wondering about that release. Sounds promising.

I have the UK set but I wouldn't go out of my way for a copy. Yes it is good but this film is just something I see a better edition coming along sooner than later. I know some were excited for the Japan box set but it isn't the best ever either. If the U.S. Anchor Bay BLU is the only current option I would go with it until a better edition gets released. (In regards to an Ultimate Set)

I bought the US disc and the Japanese box set and I think that's enough for me for this title
Enjoyed this film but haven't even opened the discs yet to watch them.
Scared the crap out of me as a kid

Anyone know what's up with the 3D version? I'd love to see this in theaters even without the 3D but at least I can hope for a decent BD release. That DVD ultimate edition is still king in my house until a BD that has the same or more features.

I believe it's still being worked on. It's coming out Oct. 2015 from what I've read.

This has been on my mind also. I would love to see it in 3D and I would pay $50.00 for a great BLU 3D release! From what was posted forever ago on the 3D process for the film it sounded very promising so I can't imagine they would junk the project.

I wouldn't pay $50 for most BDs but I'm with you on this one! Hopefully there's something good come October.
