I’m able to share one publicly. My reply to the member’s question -
“Yes, I’ve seen that spreadsheet before (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=184653968) and it’s not quite as useful in being an image predictor as some hobbyists might presume, given how televisions may (or, more significantly, may not) handle static metadata ST 2086, MaxFALL, MaxCLL, as the interop WG of the Ultra HD Forum discovered in their testing at last June’s plugfest with regards to TV behaviors - ![]() |

That's what I said when I found out that the theater I'd wanted to see Dust 2 Glory (4K, but not HDR) with some local friends sold out all their tickets within ½ hr

My guess is the Z is the 2nd to last bullet point. I'm still super pleased with image quality overall and the gorgeous look of classic film based movies on 4k so far. (Thanks Sony & Universal). And thanks to Geoff whose generosity with settings makes my Z so great. The first tv I ever tinkered with for settings! |

The Z still doesn't dynamically tone map though, it just clips the amount of highlight range to wherever you've got your contrast control set to, but it does apparently ignore the metadata and analyse the frames to create its own light levels, yes.

My 2016 Samsung DOES support HLG, but we're in their stupid situation with Samsung refusing to say it does in public such that Venn Diagram creators won't put "Samsung" in the "HLG" section. But now, Samsung devices are clearly and openly listed on the Supported HLG Devices page by the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/l...-planet-II-uhd ... except for the Tizan 2016 Jazzm models . The ones that Samsung promised HLG support for in this article: http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinio...-is-it-2947378. That promise was kept. Samsung delivered HLG support for in February of this year in a firmware update. So, BBC and Samsung, where's my HLG iPlayer please? |

I also have a KS9800, and I agree with you. It's weird that even though the TV supports HLG, the iPlayer app doesn't support HLG on the TV. I wonder if they will at least add support to the 2017 Samsung blu ray players. I would settle for that, since HLG works over HDMI on this TV now. Of course, I'm outside of the UK, so I would have to use a VPN anyways. |

Looks like more phones will have HDR next year thanks to the new Snapdragon 845 chip that not only supports HDR playback, but now adds 4k 60fps 10bit HDR10 and HLG capture from the camera.
