I will hold out for the PS4 option myself. At least I can use a blue tooth controller. http://www.tykeanimal.com

Could be..though there are no issues on blu ray. It is an old cable box mind you. |

So I've been watching movies on my Philips BDP7501 in place of the K8500 and the HDR colors/contrast/brightness look basically identical to me. Or at least there isn't a jarring difference.
The advantage of the BDP7501 is that it has a great info display that tells you the bitrate/codec/colorspace/chroma of both the source and what it's HDMI output is & no red smeary chroma error. Disadvantages of the Philips are it will only output 8 bit or 12 bit for UHD & the overall GUI on the Samsung is nicer and tells you what disc is in the tray. |

Hmmm...I can't seem to get this to work for me. Clearly I'm doing something wrong but I'm damned if I can figure out what. I've downloaded the file and transferred it onto a USB but can't get the player to update itself. The file is on the drive but the player doesn't seem to be seeing it. Frustrating.

They're bound to send the update over your wireless automatically, eventually. Or the next one, whichever comes first. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Out of curiosity, which is the generally preferred hookup. Using a direct HDMI connection to the TV and a second HDMI to the receiver for audio from the player. Or running the player hdmi video out to the receiver and have another cable output from the receiver end to the tv?

I had mine hooked up thru the receiver before but was getting bad audio sync issues from disc to disc, so used the HDMI 2 connection to the receiver and it seems to be better. Still use the audio delay adj on the receiver sometimes tho
My receiver passes 4K HDR but I don't think it will pass Dolby vision when it comes out, it's a 2015 Pioneer SC95 |
