Is anyone here able to play Ghostbusters 2 4K on this player. Everytime I insert the disc it tells me it cannot be played and might be damaged. I got a replacement disc and it's doing the same.

Yes, I can play it. Is your firmware up to date? If so, return the disc to the store for an exchange. There are some bum discs floating around.

I am running 1010 and I already had the disc replaced once.

I gave up on trying to get GB2 to play and decided to put on Police Squad on DVD .. and the sound constantly cuts in and out. Admittedly this is the first and only DVD I have tried playing on this player so I don't know if it does it with all DVDs. The actual DVD is fine though because it plays great on my other players.

I guess in short I really hate this Samsung. I've had nothing but problems with it. Lipsync issues, discs it is unable to detect/play, now sound skipping. ARGH.

I've never had such problems. Since they recalled update 10.10 maybe that's it?

Maybe. I think they recalled it several times. Really wish they would release a 1011. Pulling back and reusing version numbers is just too confusing.

I have 1010 and only thing I had to adjust ever since the fw update was audio delay (which at I set to +11 from my receiver and everything now is in sync again). Other than that, no other issues.

T2: Judgment Day won't play in mine. It keeps freezing during the boot up.

Has anyone else had issues?

Does it really matter if we keep 24fps in Auto or Off? Especially if we introduce frame interpolation from the TV commands?

I would definitely have the player output 24fps, otherwise it's doing pulldown and then your TV is messing with it too if you have the motion shit on.

Yes, in case I want to see things in typical 24fps motion. But if I like to have motion interpolation (SOE for the haters lol), then wouldnt 24fps on the player and motion interpolation/smooth motion feature on the TV work counteractively? Thus creating more motion artefacts?

Right idea but you have it reversed. The BDs are encoded at 24fps, so by having it OFF you are adding two processing effects on top of each other. The player is doing a pulldown to output at 30 or 60, and then the TV is adding motion psychic readings to it, doubling the processing. If you have the player output 24fps then you're only processing it once.

So whichever way we slice it, whether as a purist or SOE user, we are better off leaving 24fps in the player on Auto

Try a hard reset, unplug the unit, replug and press the stop button on front of player for 8 seconds. If that does not work the remote is defective.

It's not a new player and frankly i would consider stepping up to at least the Sony.
