Lucky strike at Best Buy today...

Someone put out a WB $17.99 4K shipper on sales floor that's not active (yet).

None of the movies on the shipper had slipcovers, but some 'normal' copies still do.

As I recall, they were all WB catalog movies like Great Gatsby and I Am Legend.

I spotted Unforgiven 4K there, so I grabbed one off the shelf with a slipcover.

Then I grabbed a Blue Shirt to point out the display and the prices are not correct (yet).

They honored the $17.99 and I would have gotten The Town 4K, but there was no copy present anywhere that had a slip.

I might check another BB for that one or just wait for the sale to start later on (?).

The UHD is about perfect IMO. This always supposed to be a dusty faded picture of the West. I'm not at all sure what you guys are expecting for color. The bluray was fine to me, and didn't appear too crazy.

What is definitely true is that the old transfer is a pile of greenish garbage.

LOL guys the old disc was a trash bin 15Mbps transfer from what looks to be a DVD type master. This is a huge upgrade if you have eyeballs. Nevermind the sound was garbage on the old disc.

This UHD is one of the biggest upgrades over a BD I've seen yet. If you don't already have it, grab it. So glad I was able to find a copy release week and use RZ certs to make it cheap.

which I just did, plenty of copies with not only slips... but with easily removable price tags!

on top of that they had the movie on a cardboard promo display with about 6 other titles saying "$17.99 4k movies".... which of course didn't come up, but they honored

LOL I'm with you on that. I don't understand the hard on people have for slip covers. Every blu ray or 4K I've ever bought that had one the first thing I do is throw the slip cover in the trash.

Same... straight in the bin it goes. Isn't it inconvenient having to take the case out of an additional case before being able to access the disc? Never understood the appeal of the slip covers.
