I agree. I had to check the screenshots a few times to confirm what I was looking at. Gene Hackman looked redder than a tomato.

Right? There really is a heavy red/orange tint to the darker scenes on the new Blu.

My work (BBY) had two copies. Almost bought one, but even with the discount, it was ridiculously expensive for a catalog title.

I watched it 2 days ago (UHD) on my LG oled TV and I was very impressed. It looked like film and isn't mastered too dark, I think some scenes were filmed without enough front light (or deliberately for effect) and those scenes are fleeting (eg Clint in a shack with a brightly lit window behind him and an unlit face.
Daylight scenes look beautiful, especially the long shots of the town and surrounding mountain range.
It looked like how I would have expected to see it in a cinema but with nailed frame rate and no anomalies. Good work.

Price gouging is charging more for water during a drought. This is simply Warner charging niche early adopter prices for niche early adopter product.

Skimmed through the remastered BD (haven't watched the UHD yet), but yeah, that one shot at the beginning of the chapter with the windmill as Little Bill walks outside is hideous. It's not just the windmill, it's legit everything in that shot has a halo around it. Weird af.

Finally watching the UHD, this thing is a stunner. So glad I purchased this. I've seen this movie countless times over the years but this is almost like seeing it for the first time again.
