I just went by my local Walmart and they had most of the 100 year BD's with slips. And might I add, these really are nice slips. I ended up getting Babe, Field of Dreams, and Ray for $11.96 each. Breakfast Club, 40 Yr Old, Bourne movies were $15.

I saw this in the press release:

Quote:
Universal Home Entertainment will be introducing a limited edition 100th Anniversary Collector’s Series featuring some of the aforementioned film restorations on Blu-rayTM in collectible, book-style packaging showcasing rare movie memorabilia and brand new 10-minute video featurettes.

Picked up 40-Year-Old Virgin and Field of Dreams at Wal-Mart, and then got A Beautiful Mind at Target.

Like others here, my local Best Buy only had Billy Elliot. I was also disappointed that they didn't have any of the new gold slips that came out today either. But, as there is a Costco, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target all on the same road 5 minutes away, at least I've got options..............curse you Best Buy. I had coupons......

Speaking of coupons, the Universal 100 have a code you can enter on their website for prizes and such. So far, I've gotten $3 coupons off my next Universal 100 Blu-ray purchase for each code. You can only print out 2 per IP address or something, but oh well.

No, it will remain the same but the 100 years will be removed. I quite like the new Paramount video intro with the stars gliding across the water surface.

You got the coupon sent to you? I won 2 of them and the screen just said "Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery via e-mail."

I was hoping to get one so I could use it today on 40 Year Old Virgin

I hope all these new releases are Digibooks, although the OCD in me is torn on The Birds...it'll be the only digibook Hitchcock. Might have to be a standard case to match Psycho and the Hitchcocks from MGM

North by Northwest from Warners is a digibook. I wonder if the Psycho rumored re-release would be one too. That would be a double-dip on my part.

I do believe most of their higher-profile releases - like the 13 mentioned for restoration in this week's press release - will be receiving a digibook pressing. Well maybe not the monsters set if a boxset is indeed released.

It really irks me that Universal won't release Waterworld with the extended version. Never saw it but all reports say it greatly improved the movie. And yes, I know most of you probably didn't like this movie, but I sure did! (damn Costner and his meddling with the director's vision)!!
