The next few years are going to be a hell of a time for HDR in general. All the growing pains it's suffered will be worth it in the end.

Whats nice though, is 2017 and 2018 are pretty golden, HDR10 and DV are matured nicely, PQ and calibration ability is very nice among Sony and LG. Good times.
It was a rough couple of years when plasma died and all you had was highly expensive OLED and displays that did UHD and not HDR, still waiting on HDMI to work out. Now its fixing to get all jumbled again with HDMI 2.1, but I am not upgrading all my gear any time soon. HDR10 and DV are just fine for me. |
