That would be PCM then, if bitrate is the requirement.

Maybe Sony could encode all BD's with 24/192 PCM no matter if the original elements are 16/48 or 24/48?

DTS HD MA, Dolby TrueHD and LPCM are all fine for me!

But I still have a preference for DTS! (it's just a preference from the DVD days)

Zoinks!

Imagine though, the bitrate of the audio exceeding that of the video. The 192kHz TrueHD track on AKIRA is something like 14Mbps at times.

It was a joke, but now I'll say Dolby for not creaing a "Dolby 7.1 Day." But if they create a day like that then it'll be back to even.

Personally I think Dolby should partner up with Victoria Secret in a Double D promotion, I'd think about changing my vote

I can only imagine the new sound trailers that they'd make for that...

It may be too late by May 1st for Dolby. Well in regards to blu-ray.. Streaming, tv, DVD, they'll probably be fine next year.

With everything broadcast in 720p/1080i, I don't expect better than DD5.1 for the next five years on any kind of broadcast - broadband, cable, satellite, whatever.

They'll just brand everything "HD" and the masses will swallow it whole.

Don't forget the theatre as well. They have a format for DLP screens called Dolby Digital Cinema where as DTS has nothing except for on film (which Dolby obviously also has).
