You might find that a bit tough given Whedon dislikes it.

A lot of us idiots sold our DVDs when BD came around so this new Escape disc is a good way to get the extras back on longer-lasting BD discs. If the new transfer is worse for me then I can just keep my MGM disc, which wouldn't sell for anything anyway.

The Mill Creek release of Happy Birthday to Me is great as-is. I'd kill for Let's Scare Jessica To Death, though.

I didn't own the previous EFNY release but if I did I would have bought SFs release for not just the extras but the better PQ as well.

I can't help but to think big. Sure, the Mill Creek release is satisfying, but I'm imagining a Scream Factory release with some nice extras and one of their custom art jobs. There's ALWAYS room for improvement

In terms of extras and packaging, sure, but PQ? It doesn't need a lackluster encode when the released disc is near perfect for such a ridiculously low price, but that argument has been played out lately.

And on the subject of Scream going after indie flicks, I'm curious just how much Alfred Sole wants for Alice Sweet Alice. Last I heard, it was a mint, but I didn't hear any specific numbers.

I went into it thinking that was what I would get, and instead I got a movie that seemed like it was trying really hard to be wacky and silly and ironic-bad. It totally ruined any of the fun for me that I was expecting. Christopher Lee in pink sunglasses as a joke? Not very funny. Christopher Lee in pink sunglasses as an attempt by the filmmakers to make him look awesome and hip? Now THAT would have been funny!

Having seen 1 and 3 since then and having liked both of them, I'm tempted to go back and check it out again to see if it succeeds in being amusing, but my first reaction was just annoyance. It was kind of like how I react to all those Syfy channel movies where they're trying to be bad and have a smug layer of irony over the whole thing which makes it fail both as being quality entertainment or at being an endearing failure produced by people who were trying to make something good. I was totally unaware that the first Howling movie was a pretty droll movie with a lot of satirical elements, though, so I guess I thought it was the bad follow-up that was taking a serious movie and trying to make fun of it in a smug way, when it clearly wasn't. It may have just been trying to take the humorous elements of 1 and doing a totally tone-deaf impersonation of them and failing utterly at everything. I need to rewatch it!!

A few weeks ago it was being discussed in this thread. Apparently, it's not with MGM anymore. It's with Lionsgate.

So is the Manitou..

I think Scream probably has Bubba Ho Tep , the Car, Demon Knight, Village of the Damned, the Serpent and the Rainbow.. of course if they dont announce them, they dont have them but I have a gut feeling about these films.
They have plenty of time to announce some stuff before July.
I think the Fly II and Omen IV would be good sellers from SF if they deal with Fox again.
I also predict a VP III set will happen.. somehow someway there will be one more ! (PRAY !! )

I'm still waiting/hoping for Scream to tackle Alien Predators/The Falling. That's a great MGM title that hasn't even come out on DVD.

They don't have it on their radar as they've repeatedly confirmed the handful of Carpenter titles that lie with Studio Canal in the UK aren't available to them.

I suppose we can hope that might change in the future.

Have the SF EFNY special edition preordered, can't wait. Got this for the features plus don't currently have a copy of it in my collection. Hope one day they will get a hold of The Car.

They don't need to.

Anyone knows who might own this one in the US?

I believe the original name is The Clown at Midnight.

Universal released it on DVD in the UK but the movie never had a DVD release in the US. Maybe Scream could work out something. It's been ages since I last saw it but I remember liking it.
