Well I can say that I know 4 titles on the list which will happen but that's all I can say. I don't mean to imply Shout has them. .but just that I see 4 titles that will be happening

Good news. Can you just confirm that these are 4 titles from the MGM list and not the Fox one? We know The Curse and Curse 2 are coming from someone (not Kino - surely Scream), so that leaves another 2.

I'd love one of them to be Frankenstein Unbound, but sadly, that's with Anchor Bay for the time being.

No.

I have the double feature of Hostel/Hostel 2 and I won't add it to my collection. It's the tv version or something or another. I'm not into extreme gore but I still want my movies intact. All the gory scenes were edited out. I was so mad that I didn't bother to watch the rest, and stored the disc hidden away. I only paid 5 bucks but not the point.

This is the version:

That disc used the same transfers that Sony did, there's nothing edited out of them. The original release had audio issues at the end of the first film, but they fixed them.

What is most disturbing is the cover art.

However, in the dvd I own and also the movie channel that showed it ages ago, it's all there showing the actual torture.

They completely removed the scene when he had his achilles tendonitis sliced. They did show him crawling on the ground but no shots of his leg or any of the drilled holes. They also edited out the end of the scene when he got his throat sliced.

I turned it off shortly after. I've never bought any of those 2 for 1 by Mill Creek again.
It does say Director's Cut. Maybe your DVD is something else.

You're the only consumer to have received an edited disc, then. I (unfortunately) bought it when it was a $5 Target mainstay and there's nothing edited about it.

No because I dont want to narrow it down even a hair, like I said, I see 4 titles that I know are coming, but I will say nobody knows who has Dark Places - if you mean the one with Christopher Lee that is - that one you can rule out.

This is not part of the 4 but I think I heard or read somewhere Twilight Time has the Mephisto Waltz but I could be wrong about that. They usually have no problems saying they do have something they havent announced yet

There's a few titles I think would do well as singles but most would probably come as double features, so I've tried to do some logical pairing, as best I could:

The Curse
Enemy Territory
J.D.'s Revenge
Exterminator 2
The Attic
After Midnight
The Ambulance
Death Weekend (AKA The House by the Lake)

Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? / What's the Matter with Helen?
Rolling Vengeance / Steel and Lace
The Falling (AKA Alien Predator) / Deep Space
Mom / The Vagrant
Curse 2: The Bite / Curse 3: Blood Sacrifice (AKA Panga)
The Alchemist / Transmutations
Monster Dog / The Cellar
In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro / The Bat People
Hunter's Blood / The Supernaturals
Stone Cold Dead / Nightkill
Blood Link / Open House
The Evictors / South of Hell Mountain
Dark Tower / The Rift (AKA Endless Descent)
Dark Places / Voices

Some of these are long shots, since I don't know if MGM even owns the rights to them anymore.

Also a few Fox titles I hope are released:

The Hex (I believe this is with Fox)
The Vindicator (see above)
Frankenstein Unbound (see above)
Warning Sign
Alien Nation
The Fly II

The Mephisto Waltz / House on Skull Mountain
Witchcraft / Devils of Darkness
The Earth Dies Screaming / Chosen Survivors
If we are talking about the same movie, The Evictors was already released by SF. It was on the DVD that came with The Town that Dreaded Sundown.

I'm Canadian and the disc is probably Canadian too. The disc itself isn't defective but I do think it's kinda cool being the only owner of a tv/edited version disc while the rest of the world have the real thing. Cool in the sense of being the standout.

edit: And why would I lie about it? Being told I'm the only consumer is a sly remark of calling out BS. Fortunately, I don't get upset from anonymous folks, so no harm and no foul.
There is no documented discussion of anyone else getting an edited or otherwise altered version of the film. This is a popular enough film that that in itself makes what you say seem unlikely hence the apprehension. What is the length of the version you claim is edited? That can & will help provide evidence of your claim. Load the disc and give us an exact time code and we can compare that to the other releases. I have the two individual editions for comparison sake and I'm sure someone else could chime in regarding their copy of the double feature.

Also.. direct from DVD compare, comparing all editions...

CUTS:
Blu-ray A Director's Cut - Double Feature America- Mill Creek Home Entertainment - No cuts - "Unrated" version.
Blu-ray ALL Director's Cut America- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - No cuts, includes two versions of the film:
- "Unrated" version.
- "Director's Cut", including the original "test screening" ending.
Blu-ray ALL France- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - No cuts - "Unrated" version (93:36).
Blu-ray ALL Extended Cut Germany- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - No cuts - "Unrated" version (93:36).
Blu-ray ALL Unrated Scandinavia- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - No cuts - "Unrated" version (93:36).
Blu-ray ALL Unseen Edition United Kingdom- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - No cuts - "Unrated" version (93:36).
So again, no evidence to suggest you have an edited copy of the film. This sounds like your memory is getting the better of you in that you thought you saw something but actually didn't.

Theses ones would be awesome..

Fright Night 2 (1988)
Dead Alive
Chopping Mall
Mother's Day (1980)
Cheerleader Camp (1988)
Strangeland
Serial Mom
April Fools Day (1986)
Childs Play 2 and 3
Problem Child and Problem Child 2
Tourist Trap
I'm Dangerous Tonight (1990)
Return of the Living Dead 2 and 3
Cool World
Mother's Day is a Troma movie, so that'll never happen (whether Anchor Bay has the rights or not) Scream Factory needs to stay the hell away from anything Troma..

I would like to see Dead Alive re-released though, whether it's by Lionsgate again or Scream decides to put it out. Chopping Mall too, but I'm pretty sure that's already on the way, from another company.

Great to hear that Cristina Raines will do a commentary for NIGHTMARES. That makes it a must-purchase for me.

I also received news that my BLOOD AND LACE is shipping tomorrow.

You know in the wake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, I'd like to see Scream do Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

Of course I meant a Blu-ray upgrade, as with The Vagrant. With the 3 double features this year (Cellar Dweller/Catacombs, The Outing/The Godsend, Dungeonmaster/Eliminators), we've seen that Scream are not averse to doing this with titles they've previously released on DVD.

Kinda frustrating tbh that TCM 2 is being released, it's already got an amazing edition through arrow (one that a regular scream CE can't top).

I'd much prefer for them to release TCM 3 and 4, preferably as collectors editions (Yes, even the 4th lol) or as a double feature.

I'd also love to see Peter Jacksons early work released through them, like Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Braindead .
