We SHOULD hope for all these labels to do well and put out all the titles we love.
I agree with that but user comments do leave an impression. What "you dont like what youve been seeing lately " - as far as titles go are out of their hands. it's not fault of theirs
If you want Scream to release Critters or any Warner horror titles, it's not happening anytime soon.
If you want Rawhead Rex, Maximum Overdrive , Warlock, Wishmaster, those are with Lionsgate
If you want Alligator, Hell Night, Fade to Black, Dawn of the Dead.. these are in the hands of producers who arent responsive or just want obscene amounts of money. Scream of course continues down the avenues to try to get these titles, and there is always a chance for them to crack these nuts

Well the good news is Paramount has their library again, as to what happens or who they deal with is anyone's guess

I had a feeling this was coming, that's proudly why Shout started the Shout Select line.

They're not going to announce that they have access to the Paramount Library on Facebook (or here). The fact that they took the time to respond to that specific inquiry makes me think that they may already be negotiating for certain titles. Whether that means the negotiations are successful or not remain to be seen, but if/when Scream Factory would get access to the Catalog I'd assume that the Friday the 13th series would be amongst it's most wanted gets. Simply because of the money making opportunities it could/would provide them. If they were to get access to the catalog I'd like to see the following for sure...

-Tales from Darkside
-April Fools Day
-Friday the 13th 1-8 (All Uncut, all on individual releases ala The Halloween Collection Set)
-Paranormal Activity 3 (Alternate/Unreleased Cut of the Film)

A good chunk of these already have great releases that are pretty much definitive.

With that being said though I'd pay good money for collector's editions of Dawn Of The Dead, Dark City, Event Horizon, The Omen, The Fly And The Silence Of The Lambs.

Those films really need new transfers.

There are so many titles I just can't believe haven't gotten a BD release yet, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie chief among them. Well, really anything Stephen King-related.

One thing I've also never understood is why these studios that are completely uninterested in putting out their library titles on BD themselves also refuse to sublicense to a home media label. I mean, if you don't believe there's enough of a market or can't see the investment paying off enough then why not just let some other company take all the risk and sit back cashing the checks? Are these studios just expecting another DVD-era boom in home media and therefore are taking a sort of "wait-and-see" attitude, thus allowing their vast libraries to sit in some vault rotting? I've always felt like I'm missing something here. There's gotta be some logical reason.

I hope so. I've been wanting a bluray replacement for my Tale of the Darkside forever now.

Cyborg (Van Damme) Collector's Edition please 😉
It's very common for the biggest fans to become the easiest to disappoint. You have an aggrandized view of Scream in your head that is hard for them to live up to.

They licensed their lesser-known titles to Blu to Kino and Olive.

I doubt that I will get Friday the 13th movies at this point. The first 8 films and the Crystal Lake series is probably enough. I might still pick up Freddy vs. Jason and the remake at some point, but I think we have most of what is needed from that series.

Paramount has it. My wife is more interested in that film receiving a blu-ray release than Paramount is. Incidently, it's been on my wishlist for years.

I know boxsets are cost efficient and convenient, but having each Friday as an individual release would be dream come true. 1-8 are such fun films, I'd snap them up in a heartbeat.

Yes! to a Cyborg director's cut and theatrical cut collector's edition. That is MGM owned and hopefully on Scream's radar for 2017.

Maybe there's a chance that they could release the uncut edition of Jason Goes To Hell in a collectors edition. The current blu box set only has the rated cut.

Warner has that one. Shout has a better shot at 1-8 with Paramount. But Id love the unrated cut on Blu-ray !

I would love a Friday the 13th 1-8 set on 4K!

It might be premature, but maybe Scream/Shout can do that next Fall as some of their first 4k's - if they, in fact, do have access to the Paramount library this year.

I love you too Warner Bros., but I despise parts 9-12.

A Paramount deal is exactly what Scream needs right about now. It doesn't seem like any of the big studios outside of MGM, Universal, and possibly Fox are willing to play ball at this time. Privately owned films like Hell Night and Dawn of the Dead would be huge acquisitions as well.
