I had no idea Babadook was a Factory title. Cool.

4. Day of The Dead
5. Nightbreed
6. Army of Darkness
7. The Thing
8. The Fog
9. Escape from New York
10. The Return of the Living Dead

The Halloween Collection would also be up there but it was a joint venture with Anchor Bay. Regardless our singles of Halloween II & III did well."
I don't own The Babadook, Day of the Dead, or Nightbreed, although I've seen them all before. The others are pretty great, though.

From what I understand Warner never licenses their titles? If so there's no hope of getting Nightmare on Elm Street series and House 4 done by SF.

Very interesting Top 10. I only own The Fog and The Thing, not really interested in any others. I would have expected Texas Chainsaw 2 and Carrie to be big sellers but maybe the double-dip factor hurt them?

I would honestly love to see every release ranked in order of sales lol.

I'd be curious to see a list of the 10 worst-selling Blu-rays from Scream Factory.

I posted a favorable review of The Pack (2015), but I only heard crickets chirping and I only saw tumbleweeds blowing by after that. It's probably one of the worst sellers.

Deadly Eyes does not get a lot of love here, although it has everything that a great movie needs.

Texas Chainsaw 2 and Carrie haven't been out all that long, though. They might catch up in the long run. But then again, Return of the Living Dead and The Thing cracked the list...

I would expect Carrie to catch up, but TCM2 is more of a niche title than those top 10. The Fog is gonna get knocked off by something, Carrie seems like a good bet.

Yeah I had originally typed that they were newer in my post but then remembered The Thing! Very interesting to see the list (which is why I wanna see more!) and as someone said it does go to show that you can't really predict what will be big sellers.

I had read that Mad Max and Day Of The Dead offered nothing as far as improvement in picture quality from the previous releases... shocked that they sold as well as they did....

Joe Blow doesn't know that.

The top two spots are definitely interesting surprises, of course, those two are the only titles that I consistently see in large stores like Best Buy. Mad Max is more surprising though since MGM had an adequate trilogy set in stores for a good long while and could get all three films for pretty much the same price as the Scream version of Mad Max (same goes for Escape and Thing, although I'm guilty of owning both versions of Escape and contributing to the glut of re-releases). I imagine the next 10 titles would be at least a little more varied.

At first I was surprised that The Babadook was number 1, but in terms of releases I know a lot of people who picked it up on DVD, not even on Blu-Ray. So I think that also has a lot to do with its sale numbers. Just quick pickups at Best Buy or wherever due to the cheaper price.

Plus, if I remember correctly, I recall seeing a lot of commercials for it during its theatrical run. I don't think it made a ton of money though, but in terms of recent Horror films, this is one that people seem to recall in casual conversations and I am, unfortunately, not really surrounded by too many "movie buffs" in my every day life.

I think Mad Max is so high just because it was so cheap for so long and readily in stock. I passed on getting it many times for $9.99 before finally picking it up

Obviously if SF could manage to get a lot more SE's in stock at that price they would also sell like hot cakes. I wonder what is holding them back

Mad Max is literally one of their worst releases. Worse video than the MGM disc, only one new supplement, the DVD supplements have a visual error. And yet it is their best selling catalog title. Go figure. Lower price plus tie-in movie equals bank, I guess.

(It was tougher than I thought to count them on this site, since Scream Factory Blu-rays and Shout Factory Blu-rays are listed together, but I got it right.)
Just Screams or do include Shout's also?

To me, it's one gig.

I have the Anthology collection and so its safe to say that the Scream Factory Max Max isn't worth picking up, right?

The only reason to would be the 30 minute retrospective they did with Mel Gibson and others. That wasn't worth $20 to me, but maybe if it ever hits $5 some distant day.

Why not? The movie came out in 1992. There's no proper release. Import the blu ray from the UK. Needs a new scan, 5.1 audio, import the extras from the dvd and add some new extras. The sequel came out through Scream Factory.

The most surprising entry on that list to me is Return of the Living Dead. It's a relatively new addition to the line, wasn't carried in stores, and is an older title. Every other release on that list has been carried at Best Buy in or around my area... and in general, Scream Factory titles are not carried in or around my area. (I had to travel to Omaha just to find Army of Darkness). The Babadook was also carried in Wal-mart for months.

To be honest, there is nothing about that list that surprises me. Maybe if Scream Factory worked to get a cardboard standee of their titles into a Best Buy every Halloween (preferably more often) they'd have better results with some of the other not listed titles.
