I hope that Scream has a deal with Warner. This would be amazing as WB holds so many gems.

Would love restored Collector's Editions of:

Exorcist II: The Heretic
Exorcist: The Beginning
Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist
He Knows You're Alone!
A Return to Salem's Lot

Wylie, played by Michael Sarrazin (Harry in Your Pocket), and Kassia, played by Gayle Hunnicutt (Shadows in an Empty Room), are scheming ways to gain control of a sizable inheritance from Wylie's wealthy aunt, played by Eleanor Parker (Caged, The Sound of Music), who is suffering from ill health. In an attempt to gain the aunt's good graces and a spot as sole heir in her new will, Wylie moves back into her home after a long absence, and is greeted with muted enthusiasm by his brother, Luke, played by Tim Henry (Battlestar Galactica).

There is only one minor problem. Wylie has an irrational phobia of cats, and his dying aunt owns dozens of cats. These cats are extremely protective...and extremely hungry.

The 1969 thriller, Eye of the Cat, which was directed by David Lowell Rich (The Concorde... Airport '79), owes a considerable debt to the works of Alfred Hitchcock. The picturesque San Francisco setting, the costumes by Edith Head, the script from Psycho screenwriter Joseph Stefano, and the eye-popping colors all come together as a greatest hits of sorts when it comes to Hitchcock homages. Of course, the cats themselves are a wonderfully eerie throwback to The Birds. Finally, a pivotal action sequence where the wheelchair-bound aunt is in danger of rolling backwards down a San Francisco sidewalk hill explodes with the same gleeful suspense edge that characterized Hitchcock at his best.

I fell in love with Gayle Hunnicutt during my childhood when I saw her in the 1975 remake of The Spiral Staircase, and this infatuation was cemented shortly after when I saw her in The Legend of Hell House. She commands attention whenever she is on the screen in this film, even though we know from the beginning that her character is sleazy and conniving to the core.

A brilliant music score from Lalo Schifrin seals the deal when it comes to this solidly suspenseful horror film with a fun-spirited edge.

The opening credits sequence is for the ages.

This Scream Factory Blu-ray shines with an impressive-looking 35mm print transfer that does not lack when it comes to colorful flourishes, despite occasional source imperfections. The audio quality brings out the best in the intense score.

I did not bother much with the standard definition television version that is included as an extra, but it's great to have it on the disc.

I would hope they release better films then those Exorcist sequels. Those are horrible, especially II.

I didn't know there's a remake of The Spiral Staircase. I saw the original a few years back and thought it was very enjoyable. Is the remake any good?

Best Buy had a bunch of Silent Night...but they were 25 bucks! No sale!

Only other ones they had were Carrie and Misery. Went in with a pocketful of cash and left disappointed.

I just picked up a few that I was missing

Ghoulies Set - $14.98
Sleepaway Camp - $17.96
Final Exam - $14.98
Black Christmas - $15.99

With free shipping total was $62. Im ok with that. All were better prices than Amazon except Sleepaway Camp and that was 10 cents more lol. Im prob going to miss Prime shipping but since it was over $50 shipping was free.

Warner doesn't hold any rights to Exorcist: The Beginning or Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist , anymore. Those are part of the Morgan Creek catalog.

I would have to agree !

I don't get why shout factory can't offer free shipping on orders of a $100.00 or more to Canada like Vinegar Syndrome and Kino Lorber can ??

I'll just stick to ordering from WOWHD.CA even paying full price there, I am still saving money compared to purchasing directly from Shoutfactory.com even if they have a sale going on.

The original version of The Spiral Staircase is the best, but the 1975 remake was my introduction to the story during childhood, and it rocked my world back then.

Jacqueline Bisset and Gayle Hunnicutt.... That's a lot of awesomeness in one movie.

Christopher Plummer also has a great role.

This remake used to air on HBO when I was 11 years old, and, like The Hearse, it was one of those glorious PG-rated horror/suspense movies that I could watch during the daytime without my parents freaking out. Movies like this were the gateway drug to my lifelong fan of scary cinema.

My friend is a firm believer that The Shining belongs with the Scream Factory collection while I believe it should be a Criterion. If one horror film deserves a Criterion it’s The Shining. What do you guys think?

In its correct ratio. While I love the blu ray transfer I’d love to see it back to its correct ratio.

Criterion did justice to several Kubrick films before. The Shining deserves the same treatment, especially triple aspect ratios à la On the Waterfront (1.33:1 / 1.66:1 / 1.85:1).

What I really want on scream is Child’s Play 2 and 3. They don’t even have proper blu-ray releases. It would have made more sense to release those then the first Child’s Play considering that already had its own blu-ray.

First heard about Alone In the Dark last year. Would like to see it, especially with that cast.
