if you like other DePalma films like Dressed To Kill and Sisters... then think of this one as a notch or two below those titles, but still a good movie.

It has some genuinely creepy imagery, a nice mood throughout, and a typically grand performance by John Lithgow. Well worth picking up imo....

Here's hoping for some surprises this week to knock our socks off like what we all have on wishlists to have them come true and we predicted House on Haunted Hill gets a Halloween release and it did.

The movie or the disc? I think it's one of DePalma's goofier films, and not one of his best. But lesser DePalma is still DePalma.

Essential for De Palma fans. John Lithgow is over the top, but in a good way. The SF release contains a "director's cut" that is an alternate cut of the film, but not truly a DC from what I understand.

Yea I think it's more of a fan cut, but approved by Depalma.

It’s hard to tell with Best Buy. It will last at least through Saturday, 7/7. Maybe longer.

Maybe some new announcements this week. Probably the biggest stuff saved for CC, though.

And I hope it is indeed something elusive, long unavailable, new to blu ray, things like that.

I know some people have been saying to each their own and so on, and saying the things I previously mentioned wouldn't generate any excitement with them and so forth.

But I still think the collectors' / boutique market overall would benefit more from, or be more surprised by, releases of "The Devils", "The Haunting of Julia", "Martin", "Alligator", "After Hours", "Cruising" and things like that than ANOTHER release of "Fright Night" or "Elm Street" or "The Lost Boys", which all already have great blus out.

Or, Heaven forbid, more of these newer, mid-grade, mainstream, mediocre titles that just don't generate any excitement from anyone I know.

But, yeah, to each their own.

Shout said something about some of their biggest titles being revealed BEFORE SDCC. We should have some announcements by Friday.

I'm with you, but I think they've said they make most of their profits off the double-dip films. It's the popular titles that the average movie fan buys. But the stuff I like, like Scream for Help, the Unborn, the Evil, Of Unknown Origin--that's the stuff I want. Give me the lost films of the 80s with no Blu-ray releases. I'll buy that junk all day long.

Innocent Blood was one of my top-wanted Blu-ray titles for the longest time. And the Warner Archive presentation is awesome; very high quality. Couldn't ask for a better release.

I wonder if we might get a couple of announcements today, and maybe tomorrow. Might be that they're looking to get their announcements out the way before Wednesday. Even so, it might be that we get another 4-5 reveals this week.

Be nice if they spread them out the whole week (excluding Wednesday). They did say something to the tune of "expect more announcements next week," so we know they're coming. This has the potential to be a very big week. They've yet to show any real good cards; today may be the day.

Yes, facts are facts, and that does seem to be what generates the most excitement and the best sales. So, from a business standpoint, it certainly makes sense to give the buying public what they actually will buy.

But I will never understand people wanting so badly to keep buying the same titles again and again, instead of acquiring new ones they didn't have before.

Anyway, like a previous poster said, hopefully we'll get some of both, and we'll all get what we want that way.

I myself even wouldn't say no to a Scream CE of "Creepshow" or "An American Werewolf in London" if those releases had good bonus stuff and nice artwork and so on. So, there's me being a hypocrite, LOL.

I hope they announce something else soon.

I try not to see any shame in what people like; even people who endlessly troll the threads asking for the same hopeless, goofy titles (people really pester the hell out of Kino Lorber Insider), must genuinely have affection for them, unless they just like wasting their time (which can't altogether be ruled out, either). Scream Factory manages a nice balance of popular titles and more obscure titles. But their obscure titles are not obscure in the way that Vinegar Syndrome or Mondo Macabro titles are, so even what they brand as obscure still speaks to the majority of horror fans and Blu-ray collectors. That's probably why they are as popular as they are. As I've said before, it will be very interesting to see what they have in store for October and beyond. A rehash of Twilight Time horror releases? Double-dips of popular Warner titles? Never before released Warner gems like Critters and Alone in the Dark? More left-field titles like Man in the Iron Mask? Probably a mishmash of all that. All will soon be revealed...

Just to recap, for anyone interested; here are the titles the supposed "Scream Factory Insider" had stated would be coming this year from the label:

Urban Legend
The Blob
NotLD90
Critters
Poltergeist
Vampires
Frankenstein (DeNiro)
Silent Hill
Creepshow

Be interesting to see if he had any legitimate info, or if he was just blowing smoke...

If you throw enough crap at a wall, some of it will stick. Most of these are no-brainer eventual releases.

By default he's sure to get anywhere from 2-4 correct as those are some pretty easy/safe guesses to make. For me, the one that will help to convince me that maybe he did have some sort of info is if DeNiro's Frankenstein is announced between now and the end of the year. That just doesn't strike me as a title that would be a priority for Scream Factory. I feel like it would also be met with the most if announced of the list provided.

I have my doubts about Poltergeist or even The Twilight Zone: The Movie, there seems to be some sort of clause on any Steven Spielberg (Directed or Produced) title, they have never been licensed on Blu-Ray from the original studio to another.

PS: But, with Shout!, never say never.
