Just got my Scream Factory order in from them directly that includes Candyman, Trick ‘r Treat, and Starman. All three came with a slip, and there was no issue with loose discs on Trick ‘r Treat. My Starman, however, did not come with the poster. The actual cardboard poster tube was inside but just no poster. I even completely unwrapped the cardboard tube just in case I was missing it somehow but it was nowhere to be found. It’s not a big deal to be b/c I didn’t really care about that poster anyways but I did send them an email just so they’d know about the issue and can hopefully prevent it from happening on future orders.

They haven't announced anything for April - no Select titles, no DVDs - so surely they're just taking a bit longer this month, I wouldn't worry.

![]() ![]() In the year 3000, the Earth is a ravaged wasteland in the aftermath of a nuclear war, and water is a scarce commodity sought after by feral leather-clad gangs that roam the desert in crudely-armored vehicles and motorcycles. Alien, a solitary drifter played by Robert Iannucci, drives across the rugged terrain in a steel-plated muscle car and survives by looking out for himself. Life changes for this rogue antihero when he crosses paths with Tommy, a cyborg boy played by Luca Venantini (City of the Living Dead), and joins him in a quest to find a secret underground reservoir. With the help of a kindly repairman, played by Luciano Pigozzi (Yor, the Hunter from the Future), and Alien's ex-lover, Trash, played by Alicia Moro, these unwitting partners risk their lives to find the water in order to save Tommy's small home community, while battling the marauders, who are led by the fiercely psychotic Crazy Bull, played by Fernando Bilbao, and a ruthless warrior, played by Beryl Cunningham (Screamers), who slaughters victims with a bladed glove. The 1983 post-apocalyptic Italian-Spanish co-production, The Exterminators of the Year 3000, which was directed by a veteran spaghetti western filmmaker, Giuliano Carnimeo, may sound somewhat familiar to fans of the Mad Max films, and, in fact, it does not even try to conceal the fact that it is a blatant rip-off of The Road Warrior. The second-rate aesthetic of this film still won me over, though, on account of the likable characters, some serviceably entertaining car chases, and some truly outlandish plot developments. One sequence, where Alien and Trash enter the reservoir facility only to encounter one insanely creative death trap after another, made me want to cheer out loud. Crazy Bull, who wins my vote as the least threatening futuristic wasteland villain in cinema, is a highlight of the film, and I love the way that he refers to his gang as, “mother-grubbers.” The badly-dubbed lines by many of the Italian cast members are also worth the price of admission. The Exterminators of the Year 3000 plays out like a good-natured adventure movie for kids, except that it features occasional moments of abrupt violence and gore. This identity crisis is another oddly inviting aspect of this scrappy feature. This Scream Factory Blu-ray will not win any awards for picture quality, because the images are pretty soft throughout, but this is probably the best home video incarnation of this movie that we're going to get, and it gets the job done pretty well. There's a supplementary interview with Iannucci, as well as a commentary track by Iannucci that is moderated by...(drumroll, please)...Bill Olsen of Code Red. |

I'm not positive, but I don't think Lionsgate still holds any distribution rights to Rose Red. The DVD is OOP and it's not available on any streaming platform that I'm aware of. I suspect the rights may have reverted back to Victor Television Productions.

So I'm watching the extended cut of tcm the next gen...
It seems like every other scene switches from HD to vhs quality. I know there are inserts but are there really this many? It doesn't seem right. It happens like every minute or so it seems. |

Kino Lorber Insider recently stated that they have the rights to Storm of the Century, but will probably end up either releasing it DVD-only, or doing an up-rezed Blu-Ray because it would be too expensive to properly transfer it to HD.
