I'd be surprised to see an Omen set announced at Comic-con but would love the chance to own a new one with the as of yet still unreleased 4th film in the series. It seems like it should be possible but I'm not expecting it.
A Nightmare set would be wonderful but looking at the last year and what we didnt get from the Warner deal and I'd say that while I hope to see such a set one day, I'm not expecting to see one this year or in the first half of 2020.

I don't think we will see any variation of Elm Street at Comic Con. It seems Freddy buzz is generally increasing again; Robert Englund was quoted in the last couple of days as saying he still wants to reprise the character for another movie. With the success of a renewed Halloween, I anticipate Warner holding on to that franchi$e. The Omen seems much more likely. It's also a big property, and we know that 4K scan has to drop somewhere. I wouldn't mind it from Scream. The first film is a very effective movie. The paper boxset from Fox is a joke, so I'd love a new set with a fourth film. As far as Comic Con goes, I thought I had it pinned down last year and ended up being totally off (save for the Critters set, which Mick Garris told me was coming). I'm not making any legitimate predictions for this year (though I'm still hoping for Surviving the Game).

Yeah I was very gung-ho about a Nightmare set last year when news of the Warner Deal broke and while I haven't completely given up hope for such a set, I'm anticipating a 4k release of the first film, if not the series, this fall from Warner instead of a set from Scream Factory.

For me too! I hope that they are coming from someone and that the year-old news from the UK PCA is for real!

I'd love to see Scream put out Body Parts (1991). Not sure who has the rights to that one...

I think Paramount does. I thought it’s a weird movie but Jeff Fahey was great, Brad Dourif too.

I recently asked Eric Red if this was ever coming to Blu-ray. He said, "not if; when," and seemed to hint that the rights were back with him.

Certainly, you feel that if we don't hear anything by the end of the year it must have been bogus (that or the elements could be posing difficulties).

The Tyburn catalogue is probably my most holiest of grails at this point, so I'm ever hopeful. Perhaps some label will eventually cough up the money, or, more likely, Kevin will have to lower his demands.
Thanks for the info, I've only ever seen a bad VHS transfer of Legend of the Werewolf and have long wanted to see these movies, being a huge fan of Peter Cushing.

If Scream Factory doesn't release a Uwe Boll collection soon, physical media is dead to me.

Their's a rumor going around that they have The Curse Of Frankenstein which probably means that I can see this along with Dracula and The Mummy getting collector's editions and since they have a deal with Hammer that would mean the extended version of Dracula would be no brainer and since Anolis did further restoration work but ran out of time before their release and they are sharing the cost on new scans with Scream Factory it's possible they could complete the work they intended to do for SF release. I would definitely double dip if it came true.

I think it would be completely idiotic if Warner doesn't release at least the first one on UHD. It's an anniversary year and I have a feeling the horror UHDs we were blessed with last year probably sold really well (Evil Dead 1 and 2, Halloween78).

But imagine them just dropping the whole series onto UHD for us? Oh me oh my I just might die.

But didn't Warner Archive just release Horror of Dracula? That one would likely be off the table

Someone had posted this a while back in the Brain Dead (1990) thread, but I thought I would post here since this thread gets many more views. The 2.0 Audio track (the only track aside from the commentary) has been messed up. There is an echo efeect that is very apparent during any sound effect, especially footsteps. It is similar to the Arrow release of Stormy Monday which was fixed and replacements offered. I don’t know if there has been any discussion of this or if it has been brought to the attention of Shout Factory.

I was listening to the new episode of the Movie Crypt podcast, with Adam Green and Joe Lynch, and they had cinematographer Mark Irwin on. Mark and Joe kept saying there was something they couldn't talk about every time they mentioned the Blob (1988), which Mark Irwin shot. I wonder if they're referring to special features/commentary/color grading on a new CE of the Blob. Based off their discussion, this is what it sounded like.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have to figure all of the limited TT releases will find their way to blu again, whether it's Sony themselves, Shout or another group. Blob seems like something Shout would be all over, and I would probably buy it as I never got the TT release.

Yeah, I have a strong feeling this is going to be one of October's titles. They surely won't bother with Fright Night or Christine, but I wouldn't be surprised if they thought they could do something with the Night of the Living Dead remake, despite the standard release.
