For what it’s worth, the MSRP of Kino’s Hannibal disc is a pretty reasonable $39.95 considering what it is, and that’s also licensed. I know it’s their only UHD release so far, but I’d like to think that would become the trend as the UHD market starts to become more accessible.

With the new Black Christmas remake in theaters this December, I wish the 2006 remake would finally get a US BD (Unrated and 1080p like the US HD DVD, not R rated and 1080i like the Canadian BD)

I might be in the minority, but I actually prefer the R-rated theatrical cut of the Black Christmas remake. The unrated version has the extra gore and some additional scenes, but they really throw the pacing off IMO to the point that it's ridiculous (in an already ridiculous movie). I have the Canadian Blu-ray which is serviceable enough, though I would like a new edition with more retrospective features, and possibly a commentary. I think it's a fun movie. I remember seeing it in theaters and it getting panned by critics, but I always thought it was a frivolous, decently-made slasher flick. It's got nothing on the original in terms of suspense or artfulness, but it's a well-shot and atmospheric movie no less.
