The one with some guy being forced to assassinate a governor and he enlisted the help of some guy who shined his shoes? I saw that films 20 years ago and those were all I remembered.

They might just because it's Sam Raimi. They released Starman as a Scream release.

It has nothing to do with price increases. I have nothing against the free market deciding the prices. What I object to is companies strong-arming retailers to charge what they want. That should be illegal. I am glad that Best Buy and Walmart passes on Scream titles. I had no issue with Shout offering goodies for ordering from their site.

I got all the Scream titles from the last part of 2018 and 2019 by using Barnes and Noble's 40% off sale, 2 for 1 sales at Target and Walmart and using a half off coupon for Bullmoose that reduces the per title cost. I will do the same this year or pass.

Then you weren't paying attention Nick of Time is one of the better suspense films of the past 50 years IMO.

Yeah, which was ridiculous. Shout trying to qualify A Simple Plan as a Scream title would be preposterous.

Sure. They released 8MM and Obsessed which aren't horror films, but deal with similar themes.

With its thriller/suspense elements it definitely fits. The Poison Ivy movies are Scream Factory releases.

The Gift fits all day long and if they released them in a double-feature and or even at the same time it’s close enough. Worst case scenario s The Gift is Scream Factory and A Simple Plan is Shout Select.

And yet Race with the Devil and Southern Comfort, far more deserving of the Scream label than any of these being discussed + half of the Carpenter ouevre, are Shout releases.

Movies should be grouped by their subject matter, not the name of the director. F***k Shout's abject inconsistency.

You're going about this incorrectly; it doesn't fit simply because Shout screwed up elsewhere...they were off in that case and they'd be off in this one. Two wrongs don't make a right.

As for the Paramount deal in general, as someone said above, just have a little patience. Between November 2019 and April 2020 they've already slated 11 Paramount titles. I've little doubt that the likes of Graveyard Shift, The Dead Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Vampire in Brooklyn and numerous others are coming, but Scream will want to space them out. Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding back a couple for later in the year, for the peak horror season.

If Scream Factory is going to space out some of the big Paramount titles throughout the year, like The Dead Zone, War of the Worlds, perhaps Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, or a combination of many others, maybe inbetween, they can include some of what many might consider lesser titles like Peter Bogdanovich's first film Targets with Boris Karloff, and another which hadn't been mentioned lately, The Stepford Wives (1975).

Actually, these are all favorites of mine. But, of course, there many other great Paramount titles. And we don't know how many titles Shout/Scream actually have or what kind of restoration work might be need of how long it might take. Maybe a few years. Plus Shout/Scream have other releases to attend to. Are they a resourceful enough company to do all of this? I think so. This is a hugh opportunity for them!

No! It's finally happened to me! What I've always feared! I bought a movie that was already in my collection I've owned the UK edition of The Mummy's Shroud for however long it's been out (2 years?) but I preordered the Shout edition back in November without realizing I already had it. I'm usually careful about these things but, this time, the film's title never even entered my consciousness while I was clicking keys on my computer ordering this edition. And yesterday, while going through the disc, something looked awfully familiar about the film but I still couldn't place it (it was initially a blind buy). I've been trying to get more into Hammer stuff but this isn't the way to do it

I recently bought WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK from Hamilton. A few days later SF had a sale and I bought it there too. I’d completely forgotten I already had it on the way. Doh.

I've done it like three different times so I got you beat . Two times were because I forgot I pre-ordered a title from one place and then ordered it again from a different place when it was about to be released. The other time was a Kino title that I bought twice during their sales because I forgot to add it to my collection on the website the first time I bought it.

I second a breakdown Blu-ray. I think it more possible than people think.. since the escape from La series is coming. I know I’m dreaming but I don’t care.
