Don't get me wrong, happy for those that like them, but personally will be happy when Scream is done milking the Hammer cow.

No not bad at all. I have the British Lionsgate release of Curse of Frankenstein and although it could use some restoration, as the PQ is kind of soft and colors are pale in spots. But there's no print damage.

But this is a Warner Brothers film, so who actually had the rights here in the US? I definitely would welcome a new restoration!

Word. Scream Factory is about to turn into Hammer Factory. I would love to see a more varied release schedule.

I already own the Anolis Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell, the Anolis Captain Clegg, the Australian Captain Kronos and the German Hammer Films box set so I am most likely good on some of these films. I may double dip if the quality is that much better. Curse of the Werewolf is the one I am keeping my eye on here. Hopefully Brides of Dracula is on their list soon too

I love Hanmer, but yeah, they should probably weave some variety into their announcements/release schedule. Waiting a month for a new batch of announcements just to be met with an onslaught of Hammer titles and one single non-Hammer double dip CE is disappointing. Woe is me.

Can you imagine if they got an interview or commentary with Faye Dunaway? It’s not gonna happen, but you never know.

I like Hammer, but it feels like it's been an onslaught of their films recently.

Yup, loving all the Hammer releases.

It's not like everything else is put on hold and that's all they're releasing. There's always a mix of titles, so I don't get the complaining. Wanting them to stop putting out a product just because you don't like it is pretty dumb. (They release stuff I don't care for but it doesn't bother me and just means I can save money for the stuff I do want.) Just ignore it and buy the stuff you are interested in.

I'm almost positive they have Tales from the Darkside. I would say they have the Dead Zone unless somehow Criterion picked that up as they deal with Paramount and love Cronenberg. Orca is the only one I'm a little iffy on, as I wonder how much of a priority this is to Scream.

I was kinda hoping that Criterion has The Dead Zone so we can get a Stephen King closet video.

Seriously though, he doesn't really do interviews for this type of thing and maybe Criterion's name would be big enough to get him to sit down for a chat.

Actually, now that I think about it, Cronenberg doesn't do them anymore either, so I'm not sure whoever has it (if anyone does) would do for extras. (insert joke about certain person who styles themself an expert on multiple things and appears on commentary tracks for a lot genre releases from the boutique labels.)

Haha. I don't think it's horrible. It has a pretty good score from Morricone, stars Richard Harris, and great poster art.

If whoever has the film can get Christopher Walken to sit down and talk about it, well that would be amazing.

I hope you're right. They're just notorious for NOT giving hints, unless they've softened up on it...

Slow your roll, nobody said stop releasing them, just want more variety because its been Hammer heavy. I hope they do release all the titles Hammer fans want because I know how it is to wait forever for releases you want (looking at you Cloak & Dagger and Kolchak series).

I find the Hammer Frankenstein films to be "been there done that". It was essentially the same story. How many ways can you make a monster? I thought Frankenstein Creates Woman was the only one that was different enough to be interesting.

You can find the shooting script online and the excised stuff would have made for some interesting and darkly funny viewing but the scenes that featured William Hickey in particular would have been quite extraneous and caused the film to lose a bit of focus IMO, though they would go some small way to tying up a couple loose ends with respect to the fates of the household staff in the film.

I would love to see that footage but I don't think the film is worse off without it.
Yes I have the Olive films release of A New Leaf, but since it's a barebones release I'm hoping Shout might be interested in doing another release with some special features and commentaries. If the deleted scenes are lost or Paramount not letting anyone see them, then maybe a special feature discussing that footage!

I appreciate that Olive films released these films on DVD/Blu but most of them are barebones, unless they port over the features from a previous release.
