I can't imagine Universal giving a 4k uhd release of The Thing to anyone. The prequel perhaps.

Maybe somewhere, a pig will fly out of someone's arse, and Shout! will wrangle the rights to 'The Hitcher' from HBO, and that will be their next UHD release. Hell at this point I'd be happy with a 1080p release.

Whoa, I wasn't aware of that release. Might have to finally cave in on buying a region free player, considering Criterion will never upgrade The Long Good Friday and I really want that Arrow release.

Just to be clear, The Hitcher is region free. It'll play on any player.

The fact Scream said awhile back that Universal wouldn't let them have the Child's Play sequels because that's an "active series" makes me think that's why we haven't seen anything Tremors from them yet. It'd definitely be a Day One purchase for me, though.

All bets are off with the home video future of the franchise with the TV recent greenlite at SyFy. I doubt we'll see any more information until closer to the show's premier...

Actually, now that I think about it, Cronenberg doesn't do them anymore either, so I'm not sure whoever has it (if anyone does) would do for extras. (insert joke about certain person who styles themself an expert on multiple things and appears on commentary tracks for a lot genre releases from the boutique labels.)

You can bet that Martin Sheen would sit down for an interview. If he's willing to sit down for one for The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane then I'm sure he'd do one for The Dead Zone. Unless he hated his performance or the production for some reason but I'm not aware of that, so...

That's mostly what Olive's Signature series is...double dips of prior releases but with added features and in some cases new scans.

Would love a new interview with Sheen talking about THE DEAD ZONE; Greg Stillson is one of Stephen King's scariest creations, and Sheen does a terrific job of bringing him to life.

It might be too much to hope for Walken's involvement, as he rarely seems to contribute to supplementary material for his films - and more's the pity, as his somber and haunted performance in THE DEAD ZONE is among his very best - but you never know: It was a pleasant surprise to see him contribute to Arrow's excellent Blu-ray of THE ADDICTION in 2018.

Would also love to hear from Brooke Adams - such an underrated actress - and as she gave interviews for the Blu releases of SHOCK WAVES and INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, I'd like to think it's a possibility.

Of course, the film hasn't even been announced yet as a Blu release...but I don't doubt it's coming.

It would be cool, but don't think the uncut versions of 2-8 will happen. I'm happy with my $20 8 movie set. I just wish Scream would get Jason goes to Hell and Jason X from Warner Bros and do a release on those, I'd be happy with a double feature.
