Some sequels I'd like to see Scream release:

They're not great, but I'm a completest.

I wonder if there will be some SF titles that have gone OOP will see another release from them either in 4K UHD format or a steelbook release remastered in 4K.

I contacted them to ask if there will be a re-issue of Fear City (which was a limited release I missed out on), unfortunately the answer was no

Hopefully they will re-issue the Sleepaway Camp movies, as I missed out on
those with sleeves as well.

Was over in the Friday the 13th Part III thread where I learned Shout might be releasing a box set of the all the Friday the 13th movies, and that it might include Part III, but still not properly restored in 3-D. This is what I wrote there:

Somebody from Shout: People have been waiting years for a proper 3-D Blu-ray release of Friday the 13th Part III. Years!!! I never even bothered to buy the anaglyph version with the lousy blue and red glasses because that sort of 3-D completely sucks! Please, don't release something like this again without including a proper 3-D Blu-ray version of the movie. It's the absolute pinnacle, the unquestioned Holy Grail of early 1980's 3-D schlock. Please don't do this to us movie fans. We can't handle another gigantic disappointment like this again. You have a chance at greatness here, but it seems you're gearing up to blow it big time.

Have you guys not been paying attention to the work of the 3-D Film Archive for the past few years? Did you not at least check out their restoration of Parasite, another 80's 3-D schlock-fest released on Blu-ray last year by Kino? The restoration is awesome.

If this movie gets released yet again and it's still not properly restored, there would be absolutely no point whatsoever for a lot of people to even consider buying it. Please, if you're planning to release this movie again, hire the 3-D Film Archive to restore it properly. This is colossally important.
Robert Furmanek of the 3D Film Archive wrote this in that thread:

In short; if this film were to get a new restoration from original 35mm elements, the 3-D Film Archive would be the acknowledged experts best suited for the task.

It's VERY unlikely there will be a second chance at getting it done right.
If there is somebody from Shout out there who is reading this: Please take the extra step to include a proper 3-D version of Part III. This is something that should have been done a long time ago. Some scattered thoughts on two new Scream acquisitions:

Island of Terror - I enjoyed the "professionalism" here, if that makes sense, as well as the acting...Cushing and Judd were fine in their roles. Also really liked the setting, a cozy little island off the Irish coast, which was the main draw for me. But man, the silicates kept taking me right out of it. I can handle cheesy monsters (The Boogens) when done right, but try as I might I just couldn't take these tortoise slugs seriously and there was zero suspense whenever they made an appearance. And this might seem like a bizarre critique, but there was too much "Point A to Point B to Point C" stuff going on. For example, the two main characters say they're going to retrieve radiation for their experiment. So what do we see? They travel to the house, to the lab, get into suits and carefully load it into their instrument before leaving. I really tried with this one, but it's likely getting chucked onto the sale pile.

The Hallow - Now this is more like it. Wasn't a big fan of the
[Show spoiler]baby-kidnapping
direction this wound up taking, but this was an atmospheric and at times suspenseful little gem that did Irish horror right. The dark fairy tale aspect and creature design recalled both Pumpkinhead and The Descent for me. I'd been wanting to see this for a while and I'm glad I finally own it, in what is a very good-looking and sounding Blu-ray. My misgivings about the final third aside, this is likely a keeper.

I enjoyed The Hallow a lot also. I read that Corin Hardy aimed to make a The Thing-like tour de force of old-school practical effects. And while the film doesn't match the heights of its inspiration source, I certainly appreciated the effort.

I mostly agree on both, I got The Hallow for 4 or 5 bucks off Hamilton Books at some point and enjoyed it overall, the vibe was right and I appreciated many aspects. Island of Terror was ok but it is saved for me by one of the things you mentioned, the setting. I'm a sucker for Islands and coastal settings in general and so I give it some extra leeway overall

I can say right now that if Scream releases a set without Part III in proper polarized 3D, I won't be getting it. But if they do, I'll preorder directly from them.

Well in terms of Fortress, I'd rather they release the original before they do the sequel.

Wynorski made those comments years ago and was quickly given the cold shoulder by Scream Factory. It's feasible that they could be be in the works but at this point it's clear Wynorski was just excited by the idea that Shout Factory had purchased the Corman catalog and spoke without any sort of knowledge regarding release plans for the films. At this point I honestly don't expect to ever see them released if I'm being honest.

Every now and then I've mentioned this in the vinegar syndrome thread as I feel like they'd be perfect for the films. That said, the idea of a deluxe limited edition from Arrow complete with hard box poster and book would be a dream come true.

It took me two minutes to email Shout! Can't hurt.

""Hello Good People of Shout! Factory, I hope you are all well. As a long time collector and follower of your label, it is rumored that there could be an upcoming Friday the 13th Box Set.

I'll get right to the point. With all respect, I implore you, if you haven't already, to contact Robert Furmanek of 3D Film Archive to handle the 3D alignment and restoration of Part 3 in 3D. It is a Holy Grail for collectors of Jason and of 3D enthusiasts. There is a BIG difference between 3D and 3D that Bob restores. They will likely make it economic to do so. Please, please consider at least reaching out to Mr. Furmanek to treat the restoration with care.

Here's the link to send them an email. C'mon everyone. You have two minutes to send a message.

Really surprised Mothman Prophecies hasn't gotten the collector's edition treatment. When it was released it received decent reviews and garnered some love on dvd. Besides that, its easily one of the most thrilling movies to fly a bit under the radar in the 21st century. It really is that good.
