I'm giving it another week then I'm asking for a refund. This is ridiculous.
I have been in contact with people at SF, for years now, asking them to please add a feature to their website which shows which discs are actually, truly, in stock, and which ones are back-ordered.

The answer that I have continually gotten to my polite, respectful, but serious, repeated requests, as an SF customer, has been, basically, this:

"Thank you for your suggestion. It's a very good one! Hopefully, by next year, we can make it happen."

It has never happened, after years of requests-- and SF is now very close to turning me into a non-SF customer, period, and one who warns anyone and everyone to not order from their website, period. They do put out top-quality Blu-rays which I love, as a company, but it now seems to me that one of the ways that they do this is by often (not always, but often) not putting up the money and effort for even the most basic customer service help and information for people who buy from their website.

Maybe this is cynicism on my part, but I am now even thinking that, perhaps, the ultimate reason that they don't list, up-front, which discs are back-ordered on their site, is that, if they did so, fully half or more of the discs on the SF site would be on that list.

This was sold by Amazon, not a third party seller. Disc was backwards in the case. I can only assume it was a ex-return, but wow. Either Amazon doesn't inspect its returns or the original buyer went through the trouble of rewrapping it.
I actually have to send it back to fulfill my replacement. Should I write something on the cover in marker so Amazon doesn't throw it back into their inventory?
There are so many reasons that I haven't ordered movies or music from Amazon in years, and this kind of debacle is one of them. Order from Bull Moose online. They are so, so much better to their customers, and better, period, than Amazon.

I always thought all returns to amazon couldn't be put back into rotation for sale! I know people who work for one of the distribution centers and they said all returns get dumped into bins then sold online or auction as liquidated products....

The Blu-ray that this person ordered, and received a CD-R for, from Amazon, "Fear In The Night," is not OOP at all. It's still in print and easily available. Amazon just completely messed up on that particular disc, but it's still in print. Bull Moose has many copies of "Fear In The Night," and they are brand-new, sealed, pressed Blu-rays, and not CD-R's. I got my Blu of "Fear In the Night" last year from Bull Moose, and they still have many for sale: https://www.bullmoose.com/pid/305099...tes-blu-ray-pg

Looking forward to Ghost Ship. One of those movies I always stop and watch when I see it on TV, but have never purchased...until now.

Super weird! And you say it's from Amazon direct sealed (resealed poorly) ?? Crazy!!

Never had that happen to me. Sounds like some schmuck took the BD out, put in a CDR with who-knows-what on it (probably a blank, check it!), had a cheapie sealer machine to reseal it, and put in a return claim for unwanted item. Amazon's return department doesn't think to check the item fully if the return was for a no longer needed or unwanted item, regardless if shittily resealed or not.

I mean I've had sets show up with like two disc 3's, but no disc 4, but I've never seen one with a blank. But honestly with the amount of returns Amazon has, I'm not surprised this ended up in the wild....

This is what I really hate about Amazon. Not just in regards to Blu-ray movies but anything on their site you never know if you’re actually getting an Amazon new product or you’re getting eBay style Used product. I wish they would just separate the two so that you wouldn’t have to worry about the quality of the product you’re getting.

I just wrote a "wrong disc" note for Fear in the Night and slipped it on top of the cover. It's already on it's way back to Amazon so I'll never know if anything was on that CD-R disc.

I bought a DVD (yuck) two pack of The Ring and The Ring 2 today. Here's hoping Scream will announce CE's for both now.

It's rare they announce anything on Fridays, it will almost certainly be Monday now. Any later than that and they risk Amazon spoiling the fun again...

I got excited a few days ago when I received a shipping notice for my May 10th order. Arrived today and it was just one of the movies. I checked the website and sure enough, partial shipment. The rest are STILL processing. Ah, well...

I don’t think there’s anything wrong (or yucky) about still buying DVDs I still do it for films that have no BD release. I picked up The Ring Two sometime last year I think, have the first one on BD.

Oh I still buy DVDs for things like that too, I just felt disgusted that I had to buy "these" on DVD. Too hard to track down the OOP copy of The Ring and I rather not buy a BD-R release. Plus I had to buy Ring 2 on DVD anyway. If new releases don't happen anytime soon then at least I can still go ahead and marathon the franchise.
