Yeah, as mentioned, if it went Media Mail, good luck on updates. I ordered something elsewhere the end of June, got one scan saying it shipped July 3rd; arrived today. tracking never updated in 3 weeks.

At this point, I'm just wondering if we will be getting the Dead Zone this year, or next.

They confirmed a couple of weeks back they wouldn't be announcing any new titles during the online panel.

Anyone know how the Halloween II steelbook 4K transfer compares to the Universal disc? Looking at capsaholics it seems that the universal disc has more detail?

It’s an illusion.

Universal has artificial sharpening.

Scream steel is a lot better.

I really wish they gave us something in terms of upcoming announcements. Maybe not so much dates, but at least a few titles. I know a lot of us look forward to this ever year, so it would have been nice to throw us a little bone during these stressful times.

Maybe Shout thinks Friday the 13th is a big enough release to cover the entire rest of the year, which brings me to another theory: maybe they don't actually have anything else to announce Or, at least, nothing else worthy enough for a Comic Con-level announcement. There's no way a label like Shout would pass up an opportunity to grandstand, even if work on extras was slow going because of the pandemic. The SDCC announcements were never for immediate titles anyway - they were for titles up to a year in advance. Are they saying they can't even report on titles that would still be 6-8 months away?

The SF steelbook is better. The Universal disc has sharpening and processing to make it look more like video than film.

Same with Halloween III for that matter.

Due to COVID, a lot of titles have been delayed. When the Friday the 13th set got announced, it was done with only a portion of the planned extras announced, since they haven't gotten clearance for everything, again, due to COVID. I expect that they've got other "big" titles in the works, but due to other titles getting delayed, they're putting all their efforts in getting the Friday box, with that one being the expected big seller, out without delay. Depending on how severe some of the other delays end up being, it wouldn't shock me if any other "bigger" titles are held up until next year, due to the circumstances.

"The Rental" (Dave Franco directed movie) was terrific. Doubt IFC would licence it out to Scream Factory but it is ultimately a horror flick.

Those artfully composed widescreen shots with blue light and fog(there's a lot of fog in the movie) on BD would make it an essential pick-up for me. The epilogue is pretty unusual for a slasher and hard to shake even though it makes what come before seem trivial in retrospect?

Let’s see, just announced a massive boxed set, two steelbooks and a cool documentary. Might have been some more that I missed, but that’s a pretty good round of announcements for me!

That's good to know, and actually what I thought. I was only keeping the Universal disc for the Terror in the Aisles feature. But now I can definitely kick it to the curb as SF is releasing Terror as a standalone blu-ray.

I would think they still have titles. We know they have the Dead Zone at least. Either way, it's a bit of a disappointment not getting a sneak peak as to what's coming out in the next few months. Something I always looked forward too.

The Dead Zone is a bonafide classic--- one of the best Cronenberg films, best King adaptations, best Christopher Walken films.... I don't give a crap who releases it anymore--- Scream, Criterion, Paramount.... just SOMEONE release this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it is coming from Paramount on September 15th via the 5 pack. However, it is also coming from Scream at a later date as well.

Someone reached out to them and they confirmed it. They even screen capped the conversation.

Although it's disappointing in not getting sneak peaks, it does make sense considering all the delays with their announced titles.
This gives them time to work on the extra materials etc. without people complaining about delays and such. You can't complain when you don't know whats coming up!!!
