That’s a bummer to hear, as I really liked this one and think it’d look great in 4K.

Got Fire in the Sky and Dog Soldiers since I never got the original release since I heard the PQ wasn't great. Either way, now lets get A Simple Plan.

Fire in the Sky chalks off another Paramount theatrical/DTV title. Aside from the 2000s, that doesn't leave many now, and much less that appear realistic prospects. There's some CBS/Paramount TV movies/mini-series that might be available, and perhaps Olive's agreement for certain titles (Cujo, Monster Squad, The Running Man, Thinner, etc) will expire soon, but otherwise I sense that the pre-2006 Miramax titles might be the main source of Paramount-owned titles going forward:

The Naked Jungle (HD master available; released in Australia by Imprint)
Conquest of Space (HD master available; released in Australia by Imprint)
I Married a Monster from Outer Space (HD master available; released in Australia by Imprint)

Blood and Roses (probably still legal issues holding up a release)
The Vulture (no HD master, no previous disc release)
The Penthouse (no HD master, no previous disc release)
Targets (Paramount doing a new 4K restoration, though I imagine Criterion would also be very keen on this)

Unman, Wittering and Zigo (coming, probably from Arrow?)
The Possession of Joel Delaney (HD master now available and utilized for Imprint's release; Shout's ties with ITV presumably would allow them to access it)
The Shadow of Chikara (probably no longer with Paramount)
Bloodline (HD master available)

Fighting Back (coming, likely from Shout or Arrow)
The Keep (no chance; seems that Scream, like Kino, had it under licence but were unable to meet Mann's unreasonable demands for a restored release)

Rumpelstiltskin (probably no HD master)
Night of the Demons 3 (probably no HD master)
A Simple Plan

The Gift
The Ring Two
The Loved Ones

So it was. I left the titles from A Simple Plan onwards without annotation as they'd definitely have HD masters available, and wouldn't present any obvious obstacles, save for Paramount wishing to release them themselves.

I don't see the point in collecting posters you're not gonna frame and hang up. I have over 40 SF posters displayed in my apartment. I'm running outta room...!

Looks like the same slipcover style as the Alligator and Sword releases. I guess no more Halloween type slip boxes for CE releases. VERY nice to see Cat People on 4K. Instant purchase for me. The other 2 4K's were never high on my list, so those will wait for a sale. Would be nice to see some new to 4K releases and not so many re-releases, but I guess this is the new trend. Same as BU, VS and others are doing. If its something I want, I will splurge, but at almost $40 each, the blu will suffice on many of these re-releases from these companies.

June has, historically speaking, been the most exciting month of releases from Scream Factory for me. Even though I'm not nearly as excited by 4k Upgrades as many of you all are here, I still consider this a very solid month of releases. Fire In the Sky was just the kind of title the month needed to keep the complaints away and the selection of 4k's this month was much better in my opinion than so many in the past.

I never got around to picking up Dog Soliders previously as Werewolf films are usually pretty hit or miss with me and this one had more than it's share of complaints in regards to the picture quality, but with a new 4k restoration it would appear now is the time to finally pick up the film. Fire in the Sky is an easy purchase and one I've been waiting on for years on, and Cat People 4k is one I will likely pick up eventually but am in no huge rush to do. The only title I am likely out on is The Funhouse, as I've never particularly enjoyed it and so barring a great deal, I don't know that I'll ever bother picking up that one.

All in all a pretty solid month. I miss the days of 8-9 releases that were predominantly new to HD films, but we've see how bad things can get over the last few years and so I remain hopeful that things will continue as is or improve from now on.

That all said, if there is anything at all that can be done to release Night of the Demons 3, and or Rumplestiltskin, I'd be all over those... and of course the it goes without saying that I hope that they continue their efforts to obtain the licenses for a complete collection of ANOES as it would be a dream come true and I'd love to see collectors editions (possibly even in 4k at this point) of Child's Play 2 and 3.

So I guess the question now is to get Scream's new release of Dog Soldiers, or wait for the long-rumored Second Sight one (not sure if the latter is 4k though.)

The Second Sight will be 4K, and I suspect that will be the one to beat. They're on a roll lately.

I agree. DVD to blu ray was more exciting because the releases were getting new features, new packaging and the jump from DVD to blu was just more important. A lot more excitement than these 4k re-releases... For the most part.

Botched releases like the Dog Soldiers blu is probably an exception. A lot of it is about feeding the addiction at this point. Is a 4k of The Funhouse really needed? Eh.

Do Second sight ever bundle their blu rays with their 4k? I know Dawn of the dead had different releases but have no idea about their other releases. If they don't, this might be a big reason for me to pick up Scream's version instead, seeing as I haven't upgraded to 4k yet.

Second sight do have incredible booklet, thought...

Depends on the release. I just watched The Guest last night, and that included both the UHD and Blu-ray.
