Oddly, almost every 2-disc movie was fine and every 3/4 disc case were loose and scratched to hell. Cat People looks like it was dragged down an assembly line- two large parallel scratches from outer to inner edge.

To Amazon I go because I’m not playing games with Scream CS.

Beyond frustrating. I'm so done with it. Just got my copies of The People Under the Stairs and Criterion's Thelma and Louise and every disc in both of those were damaged. Playing the exchange game now. I'm done with the 4K/BD combo Criterion packs and going with the BD only editions from now on to decrease my odds of damaged discs.

Living Dead Weekend is next weekend at the Monroeville Mall (Dawn of the Dead Mall). It's Dawn of the Dead/Knightriders themed. If I see any crews recording, I'll post. I know in the past, extras have been filmed during these events.

As for Day, as others have said, no suitable print is availible. I know Second Sight was trying to track one down.

Received Tiger Cage trilogy with all three discs scratched.

It really is surprising how nothing appears to be being done about this.

As we have seen, some companies (both large studios and boutiques) are utilizing the plant in Germany when they can. The attempts to force the plant in Mexico to have better QC seem to be fruitless. Hopefully that changes sometime soon.

As a side note, I've seen more talk around these parts about lack of slipcovers than disc scratches so it's welcome to see others vent.

100% I return every new disc that has a scratch. I pay way too much money for these releases and do so because I like the archival aspect of physical media.

You're not wrong, this method can only scale for so many discs and it's still scratch Russian roulette. Granted I just do a spot check and I watch the stuff that has visible marks, and I happened to only have one damaged disc out of the whole bunch this round.

Since I watched the movie I just filmed the spots where it stuttered or got stuck with my phone for the sake of speeding things up with the replacement process, but this is absolutely not a reasonable solution if you end up with multiple scratched movies. If it's consistently turning into a chore, people will just opt out.

Decided to play hardball and attempt to get a another replacement from Amazon after the first replacement arrived with scratches as well. No dice, I have to return both to get a refund and place a new order at a higher price now. I worry about being blacklisted by Amazon for too many returns so don’t think I’ll bother trying to get a second replacement in the future.

Gotta say I’m even more relieved I didn’t place that ten film order I was considering during the sale. Shout really needs to put some pressure on the Mexican plant to clean up their act or just switch to another replicator altogether. Unacceptable QC from a boutique label with boutique prices.
