All I'm buying next week are Scream Factory titles including Eight Legged Freaks which is now 25 dollars on Amazon for a limited time of course so nows a good month for Scream Factory stuff for me that is.

I feel like we're going to get Friday the 13th 4Ks this or next year from Shout. Maybe they'd do like Halloween and do 1-4, 5-8, GtH-Remake. I have no insider information, just a hunch. Especially since the standalone 4K of F13th tanked and Paramount haven't bothered with any others, I forsee them saying F-it and leaving it to Shout.

I was listening to the CHH interview that he did recently with Cliff.
At the 48 min mark, they mentioned Halloween 4 sync issue.

Cliff reveals that was actually anchor bay’s fault and not scream factory’s fault.
Now that Anchor Bay is no more, he can finally reveal that.

In Cliff’s own words:
“Everybody always talked about the fact that number 4 had a brief sequence that was not in sync not because of an error, but it was done during ADR when they relooped the dialogue, it didn’t match the lips very well.

When we were having early meetings with anchor bay, I said you have to fix that. We can’t put a new disc in the box set with that Sequence out of sync.

So somebody at Anchor Bay decided the way to fix the issue was to move the whole film up three frames. So by doing that he put the whole film out of sync except for the one sequence.”

Is Shout! now doing the Kino thing on their website where if the slipcover is available, it shows in the stock photo?

Is there any proof or confirmation that they're doing that? From what I've observed, SF have always been inconsistent about showing slipcovers on their site. More times than not they don't show them.

Watched more of the CHH Cliff Interview and he talked about why the documentaries disappeared;

Timestamp: 1:31:18

“when you make a documentary and you use clips and you use music and you use talent, technically if it’s over 20 minutes in length it becomes a union issue where we would have to pay the union whether it would be the screen actors guild or whether we would have to pay the DGA.”

“So a lot of the studios asked us to stop doing it because it was technically starting to become a feature. And the studio rule is that anything you have, it has to be 20-30 minutes. No longer than that because the guilds come looking for payments.”

So the studios who approve every extra would ask Scream Factory to chop up long-form material into 20-30min pieces. That’s how all the studios get around that union rule, this is also why most studios special features nowadays are usually under 30 minutes.

I would buy way more if they could just list whether there were slips or not.

Shout doesn't allow PayPal in 4 to be used? Not showing up as an option when I go to check out.

Same.

I've wanted The Burning for so long. Would 100% pull the trigger right now if I knew it'd come with a slip. But I'm also holding out hope that Arrow will release a 4K of it in a nice slip box. And buying it from Shout right now would only guarantee it gets announced soon.

I'm going to guess the slipcover images aren't reliable, considering Brotherhood Of The Wolf still came with the limited poster when I ordered earlier. I'd imagine if it still has the poster, it still has the slipcover.

All the other horror icons have gotten the lavish collector’s box set treatment (even Damien and The Fly!)… so why not Freddy!?
Cliff, who formerly worked at Scream Factory just explained this in the interview on this thread: Nightmare on Elm Street is an active franchise.

I guess if the first one on UHD sells well, then they’ll do the sequels in UHD as well.

Yeah, if they do a boxed set where each film gets it's own case and artwork I'd probably preorder day 1

Ordered The Burning during their last sale, it showed the case with no slip, still came with a slip. Have never had a 4K not come with a slip when ordering directly from their site. We’ll see if that continues as I just spent $200 and Botherhood and Species show no slip. It is what it is if they don’t, $18 for a SF 4K is a great deal.

There was a time when the 4K first became available at the site where you could be sure to get the slip (for about $35). Claiming that you would "pull the trigger" now if there was a slip sounds silly, almost like a kid screaming for more sprinkles on their ice cream. Important titles aren't more important in your collection if they include a slip. Buy it at release if the slip is that critical. Each and every one of us has a limit on what we feel is of value for the packaging. I have stopped myself from buying a Steelbook of a great title due to price (Sleepy Hollow). There are other titles that were further down my priorities list and yet I spent more for great packaging (the Barbarella original art package). At the end of the day, if we truly want a film, we buy it regardless of price.

I mean, it's really not bad pricing for this sale. Kino is what 17-18 for their 4Ks during sales. Severin and VS are even more. I think it's a solid sale this time around, if you need the titles.
