Got in Evil Dead (2013) 4K yesterday from Amazon. Came with a slip & thankfully no scratches on discs.

A Random question of the day!

Here's a few stores you can check out. I've never shopped at any of these myself, but they supposedly carry movies as well as music.

https://www.yelp.com/biz/louisiana-m...osq=Dvd+Stores

https://www.yelp.com/biz/mushroom-ne...osq=Dvd+Stores

This place is a video rental shop, but they might sell used movies

https://futureshockvideo.biz/home

And of course, there is a Barnes & Noble in New Orleans as well.

That's the perfect time for Mexico travel and the heat won't be bad at all in New Orleans. In fact it may just be slightly the opposite. You chose wisely! You're going to have the time of your life!

The casinos in New Orleans are great if you're into the gambling scene. And of course Bourbon Street is one grandiose party 24/7. If you're out partying super late at night though, try to walk more in the street and less on the sidewalks, as people on the balconies above the sidewalks might have consumed so much alcohol that all inhibitions have been lost and decide to pee pee on the unsupecting crowd beneath. Don't let that dissuade you from partying on Bourbon, if partying is your jam though. It's still as outlandish as ever and about the only thing to compare it with is Carnivale in Rio. Also the cajun food is to die for. Would recommend some places but been burned before because they weren't as solid for others as they were for me. But yeah, if you dig spicy seafood, etc, you'll be in heaven.

Super jealous of your plans and hope your time visiting the Americas rewards you with an unforgettable experience!
Thanks so much for all this info I have made a note and will avoid the potential pee rain so will make note!! We are really excited for the trip.

Food sounds great drinks sound great music sounds perfect!! Thanks again

I have been luckier than a lot of people when it comes to receiving scratched discs but I gave up on trying to get a copy of Trick 'r Treat from Shout that wasn't mutilated so I just ebayed this:

I hate amazon but I only buy Shout/Scream and Criterion discs from them so I can do an easy return. Luckily Amazon price matches most of the titles during the Barnes And Noble Criterion sale.

When did GRUV start selling Shout titles? These titles and the those on the next page were not listed earlier today. Did I miss some news?

I think it's recent, but not surprising since SDS distributes their titles.

The entity is awesome and well worth picking up. If it wasn't for the Fox/Disney aspect I'd say that I'd expect a 4k announcement as soon as the Scream Factory deal runs out, but given Disney's stance on all things fox related since the acquisition, I imagine that that one will be gone for a good long time, if not forever once the current deal runs out.

Not unless someone at Sony greases the wheels and convinces Disney/Fox to sublicense their titles to other labels via Sony's deals.

They have had some like the Abbott and Costello collection on there years ago. They even had a bunch of Criterion Collection box sets at one point. This is the first time I'm seeing SF pre-orders though.

Scream factory really need to come out with some heavy titles this year, they could’ve done orphan, the descent, but the one i would really like is Sleepaway camp. If they don’t release sleepaway camp in 4k this year then i don’t think it will ever get a 4k release.

With Bringing Out the Dead finally coming, I plead again - give me Wicker Man so I can have my ill-advised Nicolas Cage marathon. Dr. Moreau wasn't even out of print and they gave us that.

I've been lucky in that I have not received many discs with scratches but I have been dealing with a strange dust on some discs, most of which have not received any play in some time. Thankfully the "dust" wipes off with a microfiber cloth, some water and a bit of work. I've also had to clean random discs of smudges and those, I suspect, come from offgassing from the plastic. As the disc sits in the hub and comes into contact with the plastic, the material is transferred onto the disc surface. That stuff also comes off, more easily than the dust, with a microfiber cloth. Annoying but very little to be done to prevent it.

Anyone know when Scream factory’s August, September releases are going to get announced or leaked? What’s the usual timeline for the leaks?
