Sure, I want these to look as good as they possibly can, but if I'm told Echo Bridge is the only option, I still wouldn't hesitate, because at this point it's just a matter of owning them in the format. As silly and desperate as that may sound, it's just so long overdue, I'm not going to waste a second getting picky. These should have been in my blu-ray collection 2 years ago.
True, same here!

I concur. I consider PSYCHO 2 to be just as good as the original. Would love to see this in HD, much less by Shout!

Psycho II is a good film ,but nowhere near as good as the first IMO. The first was a groundbreaking, shocking , creepy eerie film that Hitchcock said he made as a joke.
Arguably without Psycho we may have not had slasher films. Or at least as many.
Before Psycho Id like to recommend another gem called Diabolique ! Great shocker !

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Shout Factory mentioning somewhere on these boards that Universal was planning to hang on to the Psycho and Child's Play sequels, and wouldn't license them out.

PSYCHO II is the best sequel to a horror film. Just the respect the film makers had shooting that film. Making sure it connected with PSYCHO. Just paying their respects to Hitchcock. They could of gone with Norman Bates is released and he's killing again but they didn't which I'm glad the direction they went in. Halloween II is also a good sequel. But PSYCHO II is the best sequel to a horror film.

I wouldn't doubt it. The "Psycho" franchise is a big asset for Universal so I wouldn't be surprised if they gave the sequels their moment on Blu-ray in the future. "Child's Play" is no surprise either especially since they are prepping a new direct to video sequel so I would imagine we'll be seeing the earlier sequels on Blu-ray to coincide with that. I actually think "Bride of Chucky" was on the rumored Universal Blu-ray schedule for an October release. Hopefully, that proves true.

Believe it or not, I never really liked Phantasm (but I'll have to watch it again soon) but I liked Phantasm II. As for III and IV...

Ya need a friend to call and offer less $ then you did. Then call back a couple weeks later and see if they bite.

I really wish we could find out more about the rights industry in general, like what companies own rights to certain films and when other companies buy them. That kind of stuff really interests me.
