I have no problem paying 19.99 for these titles because Scream usually has some great extras.

I know how these price wars can go away: Establish two-tiered pricing. Charge $10-$12 for a movie-only package and $15-$20 for special editions. Now, if all you want is the movie and don't care about artwork, trailers or even menus, buy the ten dollar disc. Of course, you lose any and all rights to complain on forums if you choose this tier. Want the extras? Pay the premium but the same rules against complaining would still apply. You get what you pay for. Everybody is happy and a lot of space on internet forums can be saved for actually discussing the films.

That being said, if I saw some Scream titles that I was not quite sure I wanted to get all of a sudden receive some miraculous price drop like Ninja III, you better believe I'd order them!

The poster you get directly form scream factory is a very nice touch. How many companies do something like that?

Has anybody purchased from Family Value. They have a bunch of Scream Factory stuff around the 17.99 mark and only $1.99 shipping.

I'd love to see Burnt Offerings on blu-ray from Scream Factory but I just realized that the special features would be pretty slim

The only cast member still alive is Lee Montgomery who played the son. And from the main crew, the only ones still alive are the producer and the screenwriter.

Shame no one had jumped on a hi-def release sooner; they might have been able to get an interview with (the late, great) Karen Black.

I ordered Prince of Darkness, Psycho II, and Psycho III. They arrived together in a plastic bag. The slipcases were pretty beat up.

They could possibly compile some old interviews, maybe get someone great to do a commentary track on the production etc of the film. Possibly someone like Kim Newman or the like that loves the film. Lee Montgomery would recall lots from the film I would bet. It could still be a great BLU release :-)

Good thing I didn't order my copies thru them, I don't understand how they can rape you for shipping and not pack them well.

Shout Factory actually did the same thing to me when I ordered Halloween III and Funhouse from them directly. The Halloween III slipcase was a little beat up but the Funhouse slipcase was banged up real bad. The blurays arrived separately in plastic bags.

I called and ordered a replacement slipcase for Funhouse, but decided to just live with the Halloween III. When they notified me by email that they were going to ship the slipcase, I replied back and left them some feedback (respectfully) on their shipping packaging. I basically told them I did not mind paying the $5.99 for shipping as long as they packed the blurays well. After all, these are Collector's Editions. I suggested boxing them or at the very least padded envelopes.

About a week later, they sent BOTH slipcases. I was really pleased with their customer service. Hopefully they will change their packaging policy in the future.

At least you got replacements, but still you shouldn't of had to ask for any in the first place.

I really hope that the 31 Days of Scream Factory isn't a sale, I've spent so much recently trying to catch up!

It would be pretty cool if they ended up having a sale-a-day for all of October, seeing as right now they have 32 titles under their belt (quite a bit!)

But I've ordered 17 of their titles just this past summer, so my wallet is hurting.

I would love to see Scream Factory do a release of The Stuff or Society.

Im excited to see what's in store for the month of October, my birthday is in the middle of the month so I might just have to treat myself.

The Stuff is with Image. I never understood what people see in that movie. I found it slow, boring, and trying too hard to be comedic.

What about Full Moon High? That's MGM and never had a R1 release on DVD.

Also... I watched Near Dark for the first time last night. Masterpiece.
Near Dark is a truly unique film - a horror flick with balls. As we continue to be subjected to garbage like Twilight and other assembly-line, cookie-cutter junk, people will always go back to films like Near Dark to satisfy their hunger for well-told and well-made movies like it, which will only serve to grow their cult status. The only film that ever came close to Near Dark (I think it may even have been an homage) was THE FORSAKEN. I enjoyed that one quite a bit. We need that one on Blu-ray.
