I'm a big fan of LIFEFORCE and a big fan of the disc. The movie has been widely requested by sci-fi fans for years (the DVD release was awful).

Everybody is entitled to an opinion and my opinion is certainly at odds with people many, many times. But it would take a very large body of strongly negative reaction to make me cancel an order.

Lifeforce is an academy award winning picture compared to what some people in here think is good.

Might throw in Vampire Lovers next, I'm in the hammer mood tonight after watching Horror of Dracula on TCM-HD earlier.

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween...
i put in my fog disc last night to watch the extras. I watched the movie a while ago and didn't get around to the extras until now. what a great bunch of extras. the stuff with Jamie was great and I loved how a lot of the interviews covered a lot of carpenters work not just the fog.

I like the movie as well and have watched the DVD in many occasions. My copy is on its way .

It amazes me that anyone asks about movie on forums...I mean really, if you don't know if you will like something (or at least be open to it) by reading it's premise you really don't know yourself at all. We live in a society that cares far too much what other people think. I would have missed out on so much if I had let myself be talked out of stuff.

What Dig said. The best critic is yourself. I have the film and I love personally.
Agreed. I dig the hell out of the flick. I'll have to quote Spoony when he said, "movies don't necessarily have to be 'good' to be AWESOME."

Forbidden World would be another great example of an awesome "bad" movie.

Me and a guy were just talking about that. He was saying that this society is at a point where there is information overlord. We get information so much faster then we ever did, he sees that people have this mentality that if you don't have an intimidate opinion about something then there is something wrong with you. And I agree, constantly we are asked to like this, tweet that, and other things and it's annoying really. Sure peoples opinions about things are a nice way to gauge if you might like something but you need to be independent enough to decide for yourself.

My cancellation is not entirely based on the opinions of the members here, give me some credit people. I looked at all the trailers and clips I could find on YouTube, it just didn't look very appealing to me.

I'm all for supporting Scream, but if someone's unsure if they'll like a film or not, I see no reason why they shouldn't at least try and rent it first. There no sense in being 'stuck' with a film you don't like and have to unload.

Looking for some good Bill Paxton stuff... Can you rate Frailty, Brain Deas, and Mortuary?

Frailty is great. If I had to compare it something for tone I would say it's kind of like a very dark episode of the X-Files. There's some violent imagery but it's really well done. Paxton and McConaughey's performances are really strong.

Ive rented A LOT because of Scream Factory, Olive Films and Criterion. Oh and Warner archives too

Its cheaper to rent unless you find a used DVD on Amazon for the cost of a rental

Fantastic. I'll have to get it along with A Simple Plan.

I recall enjoying Brain Dead quite a bit, but it's been a few years since I've watched it. If I recall correctly, it's a lot like a feature length episode of the Twilight Zone. The cover art for the DVD and VHS releases is also very misleading. That thing does appear, but if I recall correctly, it really wasn't a major factor in the film.

I loved Lifeforce when I was a kid and watched it a good number of years later and still enjoyed it. I preordered this back when it first went up on Amazon. It's not the greatest horror film, but as you said, it's a lot better than a large number of films that people want SF to release.

I wonder what Mondays Scream sale titles will be. I hope The Town That Dreaded Sundown and Swampthing.
Might be a single release since they will run out if they continue double's, also might be The Nest paired with Swamp Thing. Idk but it seems they kinda go togather since you have bugs and swamp monsters and both are mutated.

Oh that sounds like a good pairing. And your right running out of titles for them you double up with. Can't wait to see what they have Monday regardless.

I made a post on there Facebook page saying they should surprise us with sept. release's and include both box sets, I also told them that it would be throwing money away not too since people are wanting to buy. Hopefully they listen.
