Surprisingly my library has the Blu, so I at least got to watch it before buying, which I have not done yet, other movies I want more.

I had some trade-in value so I had them order me the "X-Ray/Schizoid" release. I opened it, watched it, put it on the shelf and just now went to reorganize and I could see a clear square sticker on the case itself on the side "Schizoid" is pictured and it says "Made in USA" in very small print directly in the center of the sticker.

Very weird. Normally these things say "Made in Mexico" and they're usually on the backs of major studio slip-covers or atleast one major studio's slip-covers. What also is even weirder is that on the top right side of the square sticker was a tiny little almost handle piece sticking out like it was meant to be grabbed and peeled. The sticker came off with ease. No residue left behind.

Just found this incredibly weird, the placement of the sticker, how I didn't see it, why it was underneath the shrink wrapping. It couldn't have been the distributor the record shop ordered it from.

Has anyone else encountered this or is it some freak experience or has this already been discussed and I slept through it?
It's not just Scream/Shout Factory. I see those little stickers on several blu-rays, including Warner releases. They are small and square with a little silver tab to peel it off, right? I scrutinize my keepcases and cover art whenever I get them, so those don't go unnoticed for me. If you buy a lots of blus, you might have some of those stickers on other titles in your collection.

I think it's a pretty bad movie, rather amateurish. The vampires aren't cool or scary (in fact the main one is stunning), the acting isn't great, the effects look cheap, and it's way too long. Ah, and the vampires aren't in space for more than few minutes. Most of the movie takes place in England.

I was really looking forward to it because I remember reading about it as a teen and I generally love all things sci-fi. But I almost couldn't make it through this one.

Forget all that other stuff. The epic boobage alone is worth the price of admission

It is bizzare. They are vampires, bit not. Also, little takes place in space.

3 things you need to enjoy Lifeforce.

1) Turn your brain off
2) A Group of friends
3) Lots of beer

Enjoy

I remember seeing this at the theatre and seeing some people leaving as I was entering. One person in my group asked a random stranger "how was it?"
and the guy kind of smirked and said "well, it was different"....

this is a crazy, almost eccentric misfire that still is very entertaining but clearly not a "good" movie. It's a novelty flick for me, I bought it and am glad I have it but I "collect" movies. I would not feel comfortable reccomending it to someone blind buying....

I find that trailers are the best way to get a "feel" for a movie if it's something I've never seen before. Not always, but a good trailer will tell you everything you need to know about the tone and style. This is why I think it's important to include them on DVD/BDs in the extras package. I've blind-bought lots of movies based on the trailer.

IDK why all the hate but I like, good sci-fi horror, no it isn't on par with Alien or anything like that, but still quite enjoyable.

I just picked up Halloween II and Prince of Darkness at Fry's in Phoenix. Both had slips and was able to price match Amazon. Got both for less than $40. Now I'm waiting for Halloween III, The Burning and The Amityville Collection to come in the mail. It's going to be a Scream Factory Halloween marathon. And if you live in Phoenix, the Zia records on Thunderbird at Hwy 17 has almost every Scream Factory Release. They run about $25 but all CE had the slips.

For most my entire life I always had this cool memory of the ending in my head because my grandfather/uncle/not-my-parent watched it in front of me in the early 80's, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I finally figured out that it was Lifeforce and gave it a watch. It's pretty bad, and about all the universal praise I see for it is based on the main chick being completely naked in it for the entire movie. It's all British accents, an odd role that Patrick Stewart looks really awkward in, and no real redeeming qualities as far as a horror movie goes. It's a chase movie, good guys trying to find the villain, with her popping up very now and again to do something evil to give the heroes a reason to need to stop her. No real thrills or excitement, just "we need to catch up to her while she's killing these people, before she kills again," and all I can really recommend is the neat way it ends (it's nothing groundbreaking, but still kinda cool). It's sci-fi, no real blood (that I can think of), no fangs, no creature effects, and a very basic plot.

So... Tonight I watched Videodrome and began ROTLD 3. Videodrome was absolutely fantastic, but I'm let down by Return... I have heard nothing but good things but I'm thinking it might be actually worse than the second, which was pretty lackluster. This saddens me, as the first film is in my top 20.

The only reason it holds any interest for people is that the main vampire chick is full frontal nude most of the time.

Lifeforce is a bad film overall, no doubt but I was never bored....which for me is the sign that "its so bad its good". The space vampire transformation sequences are actually pretty decently done effects wise and aren't really something you see everyday in horror movies.

I actually liked it far more than Poltergeist, which is another Tobe Hooper film.

To bad. It's such a hoot of a flick. I mean it has everything you need in a fun flick.

hot naked space vampire babe, it's from the 80's, a crazy miles upon miles long alien space ship, over the top acting, kick ass 80's FX, Jean-Luc Picard screaming like a madman, London in flames with crazy zombies running around killing everyone, an awesome music score and did i mention a hot naked space vampire babe.

Put The Fog in again, at midnight.

I like the new look more and more each time I see it. The film just looks better darker. It was way to bright before. Which was so strange, considering it's almost entirely at nighttime.

Might throw in Vampire Lovers next, I'm in the hammer mood tonight after watching Horror of Dracula on TCM-HD earlier.

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween...

You will regret it! I can't believe why members on this forum are cancelling their orders, because some other members don't like that movie. Trust no one! Judge for yourself!

What Dig said. The best critic is yourself. I have the film and I love personally.
