the first I've heard of this.

Unless dsman meant hypothetically?

and even if he didn't, Cellar Dweller could easily be given an HD remaster by Scream Factory though, assuming there are good enough materials.

I forgot about that release. If it's the same master, I'll probably pass and stick with the Shout! 4-pack. I'm not sure if there's much more 101 Films would be able to do with the existing master, other than reducing the compression amount but adding a potentially ugly NTSC to PAL step. Converting from 24 fps to 25 fps isn't a big deal, but, since the elements look like they may have come from an NTSC video source rather than film elements, I think this would be a 29.97 fps to 25 fps conversion instead.

Im planning to stick with the 4 movies pack as well UNLESS Contamination 7 gets released separately ..anyway there are other titles I want in HD that are higher priority

I think it also has to do with the fact that "Are You in the House Alone?" is not even really a horror film and is a title no one was asking for because it isn't very good. Scream always does this, they releases subpar films of a series and then complain there is no interest. It has already killed Ninja films, Blaxploitation films, and now it may have killed TV horror films. Release a double feature of Midnight Hour/Woman in Black and judge sales based on how well that sells. Movies people have really been clamouring for. Mind you, Initiation of Sarah has a decent fan base, but not enough to sell a $15 DVD. It's like when Code Red was going to judge how big the interest in Blu-rays was by how well The Electric Chair sold. Thankfully they were smart enough to not go that route.

It worries me that they may be testing interest in older films with sales of Die, Monster Die, and the Beast of Hollow Mountain/Neanderthal Man double feature, which aren't really films with huge fan bases or high requests.

And theres also the fact that people are buying shitloads of their blu-rays and maybe not having the extra cash to go ahead and add that extra DVD or two to their cart.

I think if they went with blu-ray on them, unless the absolutely could not, that they would sell better.

But I agree, and they picked two films for the TV set that were underwhelming. Are You In The House Alone is a good film, imo, but its free on netflix in the same SD quality. The Initiation of Sarah is good too, BUT its Public Domain and already widely available on streaming and on a multitude of DVDs.

I mean, if TV horror movies like Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell and Dark Night of the Scarecrow can make it to blu-ray, I genuinely don't think there can be that many excuses made for a movie not being released "just because its ____". Every movie is different. Every release is different.

I'd love to buy them on blu-ray, but I'll be honest and say that I didn't get the set on DVD. I already own two copies of Initiation of Sarah and I can watch Are You In the House Alone on netflix or even just online whenever I want without paying much. They're both very widely available.

Default Studio Buy Outs

I see alot of movies changing hands these days.....movies going from one studio to another. What confuses me about all of this is.....what's the purpose of it, if it is never released to video? It seems more and more studios keep re-hashing the same titles over and over again.....I mean...how many ways is a studio going to release AVATAR, or TITANIC? With so many titles unavailable within studio libraries that have never been released before, it just makes more sense to release some of these older titles, rather than continue to milk the community with five different releases of ONE movie. I am one of those individuals that believes that if it was good enough to put on film, it is good enough to put on video, and while some of these movies might not be the cup of tea for some......they may have been titles that others have waited to see come to video for years. I have compiled a little wish list of my own below.....and as I said, they may not be the best movies, but they were memorable to me growing up and I personally would love to see them made available on DVD/Blu-Ray.

1. JENNIFER (1978)
2. HUMONGOUS
3. It Came Without Warning
4. The Awakening (1980)

I've got one through some lable called "Pop Classics" that I picked up at a dollar store. I was under the impression it was PD as this one's cover screams public domain. Its even in a slim case.

Guess I was wrong? Its also on quite a few suposedly PD streaming sites.
