Same here, only I'll go as high as F13 Part 6 and include JGtH as a guilty pleasure. Never cared for Dog Soldiers and I couldn't sit through Ginger Snaps, so I won't be getting them. I have lots of movies, but I don't need to have EVERYTHING.

Come on! Jason X is one of the best ones. I'd rank it third, after Final Chapter and Jason Lives.

I can honestly say that it didn't give me much pleasure.

I don't buy everything "Scream Factory" puts out, but I tend to like essentially all the titles they've released as "Collector's Editions." There are tons of titles I've passed over: "Death Valley", "The Island", "The Nest", "The Vampire Lovers", "Dead Souls", "The Incredible Melting Man", and more. None of those were for me.

I wanna check out "Crawlspace" though when I have some more disposable income, that looks like one of the more enjoyable/good non-"Collector's Edition" titles they've released recently.

Even though the artwork is quite good for Ginger Snaps I can't bring myself to buy it, I think I will stick with Dog Soldiers.

I think Jason X is the best film in the series. I have no clue why it is my favorite, it makes no sense, but it is my favorite.

I'm just giving you a hard time, but in all seriousness, Jason X is my least favorite of the entire series. It has an air of cheapness that just takes me out of the film.

I think it feels like one of the least cheap. All the New Line ones feel like there is some larger amount of money behind them, even if they weren't necessarily as good.

The Final Chapter is my favorite. It just seems to be the most character driven one with a great amount of gore.

I agree but FT13 isn't a great series in general.

Jason X is tonnes of fun. Not my favourite, but it knows exactly what kind of film it is and has a good time with it.

Favourite is probably 4, but it varies from time to time.

I agree with zbinks - and I'll add that the cheapness is not in the production values, but in the way it dilutes the original concept by throwing in everything but the kitchen sink. JGtH also strays from concept, but has the decency of opening with a good, classic F13 chase - and like I said, it's a GUILTY pleasure. It also isn't as wink wink nudge nudge as JX is with that simulated sleeping bag kill - which fans of the movie generally love, but which I personally found unfunny and not that clever. JX will always be the Halloween: Resurrection of the franchise for me.

Amen.

I would also argue even the kills were lacking. There was the face smash, and the guy's corpse sliding down the drill...but that was about it for memorable ones. A pretty big fail when it comes to a new setting, where you'd think there'd be more interesting deaths than a bunch of slashings and bone-breaking.

It's a good slasher franchise, but not one of the greatest franchises period. For me, that would be either Planet of the Apes (original series) or Kevin Smith's Askewniverse.

I think Jason X is immensely more enjoyable than some of the other sequels. Todd Farmer's script is killer too, in execution it kinda fell apart a bit. It reads like Aliens though, and I thought that was really interesting.

I like Jason takes Manhattan. To me the low point is Jason goes to Hell, it just legitimately wasn't as good. It was different, and I'll give it credit for that, but was it a good movie? Hell no. The rest are pretty damn good, even the bad ones.

All in all, the series is pretty consistent for me. It's like a parent picking their favorite child... next to impossible.

Yes, but if they were dangling off a cliff over shark infested waters and you could only save forum which would they be...

The Final Chapter is the best.

Jason Goes to Hell is the Worst.

Jason X is different but very entertaining in a mindless B-movie kind of way. It's not nearly as bad as some would make it out to be.
