Same here. None of their new movies look even remotely worth purchasing (maybe a rental or two at best), and all of the reviews here (and elsewhere) only reinforce my initial negative impressions.

Same here. The only positive thing I can say about such an announcement is that it will save me money.

Society would be great.. I keep hearing Brian Yuzna wants too much for that film and the others like Necronomicon Book of the Dead which is why they are in limbo here. Ultimately I think Scream or Synapse will get them...at some point

Sometimes I am very thankful when companies make those type of announcements. Lately, that is definitely the case.

You may like Psycho II & III and Motel Hell as they fit the category of rural slashers.

IMDb says Society is Synapse. Not a concrete thing, but maybe...

I continue to hold out hope for Silent Night, Deadly Night. Especially this being the 30th anniversary year. With the HD remastered theatrical release last year it must be coming to Blu-Ray sometime soon right?

Motel Hell is a must have for me. Can't wait to see it in HD. Last Halloween season, I recorded Motel Hell off of AMC HD, and was very disappointed to find it was in standard definition.

There was a nice region free release of Society in Germany.

I'm still holding out hope for another Vincent Price collection this fall. Starting to lose that hope as time goes on, though.

Could it be possible that the Mirmax title that Cliff wanted was a Vincent Price movie that he wants to include in a Price set ? It doesn't seem likely..

There's still plenty of time left for an October announcement, but if they don't mention anything by the end of July, that's when I'd start assuming no box will be forthcoming.

Where are you seeing that Synapse has the film rights on IMDB I checked their before I posted, and again just now and don't see any mention of it anywhere. I assumed that Starz/anchor Bay still had the rights from their DVD release.

Same here. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do one since they're doing the Halloween box set. There's still time though.

They did do two box sets last fall, even if one of them was only a trilogy.

I'd imagine that H6 (both cuts), H20, and Resurrection were fairly expensive to acquire. That's what I'm basing my reasoning on. I could be wrong though.

Plus they're doing the new transfer of Nightbreed.

This would be one of a handful of releases that I would get excited for. I hope this shows up soon as well. But, given the nature of the film and it's status, It'd make sense if this was released closer to Christmas, meaning an announcement is still a bit off. I also think that since this is a Bigger Name title, that it would work much better as a Comic Con announcement or in another similar venue, as last year's Comic Con announcements fell a little flat.

Synapse is listed under 'Company Credits'. Not really sure how accurate that is, though.

To my knowledge Miramax didn't make or distribute any Vincent Price films.

If there is going to be a Vincent Price Collection vol. 2, I wouldn't expect an announcement until sometime in July. C'mon Cliff, make it happen!
