This isn't just 4K transfers, but a new medium that actually plays in the higher resolution. At least that's my understanding.

You're confusing Sony's "Mastered in 4K" line of Blu-Rays with the actual 4K Blu-Ray format, which is understandable.

The "Mastered in 4K" line was somewhat deceptively titled. Those Blu-Rays utilized 4K masters, but the final product was downconverted for 1080P (which is virtually 2K) playback. It's akin to DVD's that were "Mastered in High Definition."

For 4K Blu-Ray, content will should be taken from 4K (or higher) masters, but the finished product would also play back in 4K rather than being downconverted to 2K.

Well, it's confirmed. Ninth Configuration will not be Scream Factory. Wish that the cover was art, original or otherwise, and not the photoshop job it is.

Just curious for anyone who ordered Psycho II, III, or Day Of The Dead if any of them come with slips on them still from Amazon.

Other day I ordered The Howling and got it today with Slip and Sticker so not sure how things are.

Does anyone know if they're going to be doing another October sale this year like they did last year?

Really hope so, been putting off buying some titles til then. I doubt they'd do a March and Summer sale but not one for what's probably one of their most profitable months of the year

Thanks for the info! I had no idea they were downconverted.

I recently purchased quite a few Scream Factory releases and I was able to watch the first one called "Funhouse." I must say that it wasn't very good :/. Was this one supposed to be a good one? I guess it wasn't terrible, but not very good either, lol.

I guess with no new announcements planned and the rest of the year's lineup already known, this thread will just be folks asking if X titles come with slipcovers. I think I'll go take a nap now

The Funhouse was ok, Last Scream Factory title I bought was Leviathan and was happy with it.

The Funhouse is one of several 80s horror movies, that I've never understood why they get so much praise. I saw Funhouse back in 81 and hated it. If you want to see a movie, with sort of the same plot but better, check out Hell Night. Hell Night came out the same year and stars Linda Blair.

Another two that are highly praised, but really suck, are The Unseen & Silent Scream.

Go for Humanoids From The Deep, Piranha, Lifeforce, The Howling, The Fog, The Burning instead.

And yes, Leviathan is pretty decent. Not great, but entertaining.

They all depend on what you're looking for. I am a creature-feature guy, so movies like Leviathan are great. For a slasher fan or gore fan Leviathan might be super boring. Everything comes down to personal taste.

Depends on what you're looking for. A lot of Scream's titles are similar-ish titles with similar budgets from the same era, but covering different sub-genres, and made by different filmmakers. You may of hated The Funhouse, but love The Howling and Night of the Comet, or vice versa.

Yeah. I didn't really like Funhouse either. Maybe I was just disappointed by William Finley only having a random one-off scene that made it seem like his character would come back.

Probably my least favorite of Tobe Hooper's 1980s works. Check out Lifeforce or the upcoming Invaders from Mars instead.

I really surprised about all the hate that is given to The Funhouse. I know it will never be the classic like Texas Chain Saw Massacre or Poltergeist but if you look at it as a film of the 80s is it a much better put together film than some of the shit that came out in that decade....

Count me as one that loves this film.
