The first Phantasm probably has one of those legal red tape issues along with Hell Night and Fade To Back. Some titles just have complicated rights to them
When studios lose rights then no's can become a yes, possibly. Now with Alligator out there, that can be put on the table
The word on the street with the Brian Yunza titles is that he wants too much for them. I cant explain the Studio Canal issue or any overseas releases, but at least here in the USA, he wants a lot.
Two more titles Legend of the Werewolf and the Ghoul from 1975 are a couple of more titles where the owner wants an obscene amount of money and may never get them.
Phantasm's rights are pretty cut and dry. Owned by Coscarelli and licensed to MGM and later Anchor Bay. In fact, Coscarelli owns all of his movies except Beastmaster, Phantasm 2, Bubba Ho-Tep, John Dies at the End, and the Masters of Horror episode.

Exactly, but without the covers. No need for them if the collection page is linked through the title.
I know a few weeks back there were requests to add cover images back to the OP, and Scream Factory more or less stopped doing their covers to date updates back in January. Maybe this image would be preferable?
It doesn't bother me, either way. I like having the cover images in the OP, but it is a little cluttered looking due to the amount of releases Scream Factory has put out the last couple of years.

Then one would think the first Phantasm should have gotten a blu ray release by now from someone, wouldnt you think ? .. Interesting about him owning all his movies

It does look cluttered which is why I'm not a fan of it (the Criterion OP is a mess). I like that image but prefer just having the logo. If people want the cover, it's just one additional click away.
I'll be fine with whatever you choose since I keep the list on my computer (I refer to the OP often though) but I think the way it looks now, with the addition of moving the review links to the release list, would be perfect.

I'm a big fan of the covers, even in the Criterion thread. Not just because it's cool to see them all together in order, but also because I can skim the covers and look for things I want or forgot about. It's easier than reading every title in a jumbled list, if you ask me.
That's a shame. Dawn is one of my favorite movies and I'd love to see what SF could do with it
Agreed.
Plus I hate having a gap on my shelf as I have NOTLD (which I just ordered) and Day Of The Dead in my collection. I wanted the '78 version of "Dawn Of The Dead" on Bluray to complete the trilogy.
Dawn of the Dead is with the Weinsteins I believe. I heard they wanted too much for it..if my memory serves correctly
The Weinsteins were involved with the 40th anniversary edition of Night of the Living Dead, but I don't think they have had any involvement with Dawn of the Dead, unless there's insider information that hasn't been made public.
My understanding is that all things Dawn-related go through producer, Richard P. Rubinstein.

I know the Weinsteins had Night of the Living Dead.. About Dawn and Richard Rubinstein, I think that sounds about right.. my memory sometimes doesn't serve me well.. but the wanting too much for the film I think is still correct.
Either way Dawn is not coming from Scream or anyone else at the moment, sadly
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but if you order the HALLOWEEN Complete Set from Amazon.ca you can save more than $20.00 than the US Amazon site, Scream Factory said both sets are identical. I canceled my Amazon order and ordered the set from Amazon.ca after Amazon told me they would not price match.

Those with some patience can also contact amazon.com's customer service and ask if they can make an exception and price match with .ca. After communicating with CS several times through email and chat I decided to call them and got the price reduced from $126 after shipping to around $92 after shipping. So basically I saved $30+ and will still get it on the release date.
Anyone with questions about this check the Halloween Collection thread, its been a hot topic for the past few days
Do the Canadian versions of Scream Factory titles have French on the artwork? Their releases are more affordable on Amazon Canada but I hate having two sets of language on the artwork
Fear not, there is nary a whiff of French of any of Scream (or Shout!) Factory's releases. Some of them have French language tracks but there's no French on the cover or back art.
