What about the 1976 movie, Who Can Kill a Child (Island of the Damned)?

It would be fun to see Scream Factory get the rights to this one.

Anyone know who has the 1942 Cat People?

I'd still love to see Monster of Piedras Blancas.

GREAT film, but its with Dark Sky Films (along with The Flesh Eaters, and the Horror of Party Beach) Id love for Shout to acquire that film and the others from Dark Sky since theyre sitting on them. Oh and Dark Sky has Inframan too

I'd love Scream to get Horror of Party, and include the MSTK version as a bonus. Flesh Eaters is insane, just watched a great HD copy, on cable recently.

Cat People is with Warner - part of the Val Lewton set
Monster of *PB* might be with Paramount.. I heard there are poor film elements for it...and at the same time also heard there is a letterboxed print that plays where the film was shot from time to time..

I have the unreleased Retromedia DVD of Flesh Eaters. its non anamorphic but it has the version I prefer, the longer cut and a color sequence. If Horror of Party Beach comes out via MST3K it will be on a volume, probably not an extra on the non MST release..

Yes, I've seen a pretty decent copy of MoPB, on Youtube. It needs to be remastered, but it can be done. Would love to see it in widescreen.

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

Our "Shocktober" celebration continues with another film to reveal, and this is a rare one: The 1988 prison/slasher film DESTROYER will make its debut on the Blu-ray format in Summer 2015 and will be paired in a double feature with the previously-announced SCARECROWS—another quasi-slasher flick from 1988.

Similar to The Horror Show and Shocker in its execution (pun not intended) DESTROYER sports a pretty wild cast starring former NFL player Lyle Alzado, Deborah Foreman (April Fool’s Day, Waxwork), Clayton Rohner (also from April Fool’s Day, The Relic) and even “Norman Bates” himself, Anthony Perkins!

No other details to report at this time. We still have a few more surprise reveals between now and Halloween so keep checking back here on the page to be the first to see them.
Destroy paired with Scarecrows , i always enjoyed Destroyer since i first rented it when it came out and it never had an official DVD release other than bootlegs and happy it's finally hitting DVD and BD.

I think they could do both with HoPB, if they make a deal with Dark Sky. I have the Dark Sky release of Flesh Eaters, it's pretty gory, so I'm assuming it's uncut. Have to dig it up to see.

No they wouldnt do both for HoPB.. The MST3K volumes need all the titles they can get because they are getting down to the wire on easy to obtain episodes. It didnt happen with Squirm, Incredible Melting Man and wouldnt expect anything different here
Dark Sky's is sort of uncut....it has the film in how it was originally done, but the Retromedia one has the extra scenes of Nazis dipping girls into a pool of flesh eaters in a flashback sequence

Are there any overlooked modern films worth mentioning?

It's a shame so much of the "horror community" is focused on "old school" retro films when there are often modern indie films shelved. Scream Factory's releases of The Squad or Dead Shadows are good examples of unheralded modern horror as is Mondo Macabro's Devil's Business blu.

I'd like to see Sauna (2008), Atrocious (2010), Cold Prey trilogy (2006-2010), Salvage (2008), even [Rec] quadrilogy... some could make epic double features and I'm sure there's a lot of cool modern indie/foreign titles worth releasing - not sure what Scream has access to.

There are certainly some very good modern Euro horror films being made, and some good ones that were made between 2000 and 2010 that Shout could pursue. I don't know if I want to see Shout turned into a dumping ground for cookie-cutter studio crap, though. The scary thing is these newer films could actually end up making Shout more money, which would mean more crappy remakes and the like.

I would personally be elated if Scream Factory decided to pick up Turistas (2006) as a title.

I love Turistas, and I've clamored for it on the Wishlist forum before. It's just as much of a wilderness adventure film as it is a horror film, but there are some brilliant terror sequences, including one where the protagonists have to escape through an underwater cave and survive by breathing in the tiny air bubble pockets at the roof of the cave.

Unlike most of the modern-era horror movies, Josh Duhamel, Melissa George, Olivia Wilde, and the other college-age protagonists are genuinely likable people in Turistas, and we want them to be okay.

Turistas does a fine job of capturing the spirit of the early 1980s flicks pretty well, and, in fact, it would make a cool double-feature with Just Before Dawn or The Final Terror.

Because the "old school" retro films, are the ones that require lots of restoration. It's why they get limited copy releases. They're also the ones that I personally grew up with. Yes, I'd love the newer movies as well. That's just skittish companies thinking that there isn't a market for blus of these indie movies.

There are several newer horror movies I'd love to get. Animal, Found, Black Water Vampire, Harbinger Down and Grabbers are a few. And yes, I know Grabbers is available on blu-ray overseas.

Actually, on the subject of potential "modern" titles...

I'd like to see Scream Factory release the 2001 Japanese film, Pulse (Kairo), which is, in my opinion, the best horror film of the new century so far.

This is one of the problems that horror fans see modern films as "cookie-cutter studio crap" when there's good stuff out there it's just not easily accessible. Modern movies don't necessarily equal bad or generic. Just imagine how much we depend on "mainstream media" to suggest movies when there's some sizzling indie films. Right now Magnet is one of the only labels putting out stuff like I Saw the Devil, Troll Hunter, etc. If you don't believe me immediate go watch Here Comes the Devil on Netflix, or Witching and B**tching. Juan of the Dead is another example recent to blu-ray.

Also, as epic as many of Scream Factory's material is much of their releases are "studio crap" just of an older variety (i.e. Amityville franchise, Psycho franchise, etc). Good movies, just very mainstream.

Too many of these are available on blu-ray overseas, maybe I just need to go region free but wouldn't want to break the bank importing blind buys.

my problem with modern horror is they all look like garbage because they all use very bad After Effects® processing for blood and gore, gunshots, explosions, etc. just use practical effects. they all look like a 3rd grader did them because whoever is doing most of these cgi visual affects... apparantly that is not their main gig :-/

bring back practical effects, and i will watch more modern indie horror. even romero started using cgi, and even though the stories are still good, it cheapened the kills :-/
