It's MGM and a good one! Add that to the list and get a Bert I. Gordon interview to go with it!

If they do any Bert I Gordon titles they better do them sooner than later because he's up there in age.

I truly believe another deal with MGM will happen and we will get another VP set, a lot of feel it will happen.
I have no evidence but it seems likely that they will acquire more MGM titles (if they havent already) Just a hunch. I cant see them getting everything on that huge list of titles above but you never know...whatever fits in their budget and what they feel will sell well (you omitted Without Warning BTW shame shame ! )
As for Fox, I hope that they did get a few more besides Phantom the Paradise. Im hoping that they also have gotten Legend of Hell House, Vault of Horror and Tales from the Crypt.

WITHOUT WARNING I left out mainly since it's not on the schedule for 2014, and they can't get rights at this time.

There's a rights dispute between MGM and another party, possibly the director himself (from what I gather). So, unless things get sorted out, Without Warning is in the same boat as Blood on Satan's Claw.

HOUSE THAT SCREAMED is not PD, and Shout! Factory is releasing it (through Timeless on DVD) as part of a disc with three other titles. Hopefully they'll consider a special edition for Blu-ray.
House That Screamed is most definitely in the Public Domain. There are two cuts though, so whichever is/is not PD would be the question. And also who owns the rights to the alternate cut (probably MGM).

As far as FOX, I'm hoping for Shock Treatment and Dunwich Horror.

DUNWICH is with MGM. I would love to see it double billed with MGM's HD master of CURSE OF THE CRIMSON ALTAR.

I tend to think the same, regarding Without Warning, it appears that there some rights with MGM and Greydon Clark ...major bummer
Wish something could be worked out

They have stated that they are not interested in doing any public domain titles, since they don't want to put in the money on new transfers and the like only for other distributors to be able to take their work for their own releases.

Gosh, definitely wouldn't complain about a lot of these titles

Also, quick question: I was at Barnes and Noble the other day and they had a number of Scream collectors editions without slipcovers (From Beyond, They Live etc)… does Scream stop production on slips for their older titles (older as in Halloween and the like) after a certain amount of time?

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Happy Blu Year to you too..

I think the way it works is the first couple of shipments will have slips after that they lose them and just release a normal case without the slip. At least that's what I feel like is happening.

Barnes and Noble is infamous for trashing most slips, at least mine are, but the Slipcovers are limited in the sense that you might not get one after about 3 or 4 months. Although there have been claims that they're unlimited, but I find that very hard to believe, considering they are initally available then tend to fade away. Mainly because stores wouldn't be tossing only their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. shipments' slipcovers away, but keeping the first? Its illogical.

Hmm, now that you mention it… there was a slip shortage at Barnes! Rats! Thanks for you responses, guys, it does make sense that these slips would be 'limited' in that they cannot be continuously printed… I guess lol. All the used Scream collectors editions that I come across never have slips so they go back on the shelf and I go home defeated lol

Cliff has claimed that slips haven't been limited in the past. I do believe he metioned that they have asked BN to stop trashing the slips but they continue to do it anyway. Part of the problem is that if one retailer tosses the slips but then returns unsold stock to the distributor then those slipless copies get put back into the system which can be sent to any other retailer.

Early next year SF will start to shrinkwrap the slips to the case but the slipcovers will only be available for the first pressing going forward.

All I'm saying is, put two and two together:

- Most stores sell the Slipcover in the first 3-5ish months.

- Most stores dont after that first few months period.

Its more likely they aren't getting Shout, rather than the Stores just throwing the slips away, especially considering they did not throw away the slips in the first few months.

regardless, the shrink-wrapping will put to rest a lot of this slipcover b!tching.

The above does not apply to the likes of Barns and Noble, those evil bastards, who throw them away anyway.

UNIVERSAL:
- Shocker
- Village of the Damned
- People Under the Stairs
- Raising Cain
- The Serpent and the Rainbow
- The Sentinel

Those 6 are MUST gets for Scream Factory.

as for Fox:
I'd love to see a "The Fly" Double Feature of both original sequels, and then Collector's Editions of The Fly II (and David Cronenberg's the Fly, because why not).

Has Scream said anything about the Hammer Horror Karnstein Trilogy being released? I'm just now getting around to watching Vampire Lovers and am actually enjoying it more than some of the Lee/Cushing fliks. But I can't find any news about Scream doing a Lust for a Vampire or Twins of Evil release.

Thanks
