Alright so I am new to this thread....and not all too familiar with Shout Factory's releasing ways. From what I am reading it seems like they announce new releases every Friday, is this correct?
And last Friday was The Town That Dreaded Sundown Sweet!

I am totally for them doing release's of title's that had poor DVD's first as well. Lifeforce AKA Space Vampires would be killer. I would love them to do Chopping Mall, would be a huge improvement over the full-frame DVD.

They recently began announcing a new title every week on their FB page.

No, actually the event you're thinking of is Horrorhound which is next month. Cliff, Jeff Nelson and Michael Felscher will be hosting a special Scream Factory panel where titles will be announced at. I will be there and I plan on keeping you guys posted as soon as the news comes in

It makes me feel good seeing this thread stickied. Especially since the Twilight Time thread is stickied too.

Yeah, I gotta say, I really love that this thread is stickied now as well. It was getting to be a pain searching a few pages back on some days just to find this thread. It's actually amazing how active these forums are when a thread you post in ends up several pages back in such a short span of time. Very impressive community we have here indeed.

Kong 76 is owned by Universal, I believe Dino De Laurentiis and MGM did/own the sequels.

What can I say, my King Kong '76 DVD is Paramount.

This is probably the DVD you're referring to:

It includes 3 Paramount films:

King Kong '76
Orca (1977)
Congo (1995)

King Kong '05 is Universal, and obviously not included with this collection. (And neither is King Kong Lives.) Sorry guy.

Finally the thread is a sticky!

Okay so I've managed to narrow down the possible choices to: From Beyond, The Fog and The Burning. I'm really hoping it's The Burning though...

My guesses:

-Scanners
-John Carpenter's The Fog
-Child's Play 2
-Army Of Darkness
-Escape From New York
-George A. Romero's Night Of The Living Dead

My first 2 guesses however are likely choices.

It's gotta be THE HOWLING. Or maybe THE FOG to compensate for Prince of Darkness

Is it Friday yet?

I believe Studio Canal owns the rights to King Kong (1976) and King Kong Lives, but Paramount holds (and always has) the North American rights to King Kong (1976). Universal has no affiliation with the film and it's sequel other than the lawsuits it had filed and was served in 1975 and 1976regarding the rights to remake King Kong.

As much as I'd like that to happen, it's already been released on blu-ray...and I think the "clue" for tomorrow's release states first time on blu-ray.

Again, I like the way you think!

Then how the hell did it get rides clearly based off the 76 version?

Child's Play 2 is the only film on your list that has not seen a Blu-Ray release. All of the others have had domestic and/or international Blu-Ray releases. Scanners was my initial guess too before I was reminded that there is a German Blu-Ray.

The Howling also has been released on Blu-Ray internationally.

Indeed, plus while I'm still holding onto the very strong possibility that a "Phantasm" collection will be the mystery Halloween box set next year, I also feel like the other possibility will be a "Howling" collection.

I'm gonna guess that they meant "never been released" in the U.S. If so then I think from their statement about extras its probably not 'The Burning', the dvd just has a commentary, trailer, and a short-ish interview with Tom Savini. Its much more likely to be 'The Fog' or 'The Howling' - because they have a good bit of special features. 'Scanners' was kinda short on features if I remember correctly.
