But what if the existing dvds already had subtitles? Most of the Universal releases (besides Deadly Blessing, The Island, and Death Valley) and Terror Train had subtitles--so it would probably cost less to port them.

...might have to double dip on Halloween II. I'm a really big fan of the series, and it has the tv version...wish they would release the version of the original that was available a few years back, on DVD, with an extended cut where they added the tv scenes back in...

The lack of subtitles has been my sole complaint about Shout's otherwise phenomenal blu rays!

I am not deaf, but after years of attending concerts without earplugs, I almost always need subtitles to really focus on a film during home viewing. I guess I will just have to crank the TV for these!

I cannot wait for all of the releases Shout! has lined up in the coming months. If I believed in a God, I would say that my prayers have largely been answered!

With Phantasm 2 coming out at some point from Scream Factory, have they thought about including the Workprint?

Sorry if this has already been answered but I don't frequent this thread...is Shout's transfer of Halloween II said to be superior to Universal's? If that's the case I may double dip. I'm interested in having the TV version in my collection, but I'd be easier swayed if the transfer is better too...

Basically it's the (corrected) 30th AE transfer with additional clean-up (ridding dirt and scratch marks) and no DNR.

Also, I don't think inclusing the Phantasm II workprint is being considered.

Have you tested out better quality center channel speakers? I have temperamental ears as well, but spending good money on a good center channel solved my problem. Go to you local AV shop and have them demo some for you.

Indeed!!! The number one reason I'm grabbing this, even though I currently own the Universal version.
Liquid_Swords is correct, this is how it should have been done.

The work print only exists on VHS.

Cliff, according to a post made from Scream Factory on the Facebook page in regards to future releases, it was stated that you guys are close to making a deal that would welcome some really great stuff and when it was official teases would be dropped. Without getting into specifics obviously, what would you say the ratio is of the list that are new to DVD or re-releases done Scream Factory style? Thanks in advance man!
