"Shock Treatment" sucks, really could careless about that one. Anyone else wondering how long this "Scream Factory" line will last? I'm thinking about next year. A lot of heavy hitters of films have been released already and some more will be released this year. But, really what could you see as some possibilities for 2015? I hoping they strike up another deal with Universal atleast, I mean just off the top of my head "Slither" still needs a blu-ray release.

Some other big name titles they could maybe go after in 2015 are: "Shocker", "Phantasm", "Phantasm 3", "Creepshow 2", "Cemetery Man", "Bride of Re-Animator", "Urban Legend" (Hell, if they did "Lake Placid", need I say more?), a proper "Carrie" release, "April Fool's Day", "Tales from the Darkside: The Movie", and some still unreleased Stephen King adaptions like "Silver Bullet", "Graveyard Shift", and "The Dead Zone."

How could I forget, the original "Dawn of the Dead" as well.

I'd love to see Scream Factory get the rights to Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood and The People Under The Stairs from Universal.

Also, Disturbing Behavior from MGM.

April Fools Day, TFTD:TM, and those King flicks are all with Warner for the foreseeable future, so denied.
Urban Legend is Sony, so expect that from Mill Creek.
Creepshow 2 is Image.

The rest are all possibilities.
Slither, however, is something I imagine Universal putting out this Fall with a banner reading "From the Director of Guardians of the Galaxy."

They're going to have to start going after those titles, it's hard to imagine if they don't go after some of those big name titles that they wont have nothing but sub-par crap to release.

I know who owns all these films, I don't need a lesson in this crap. I'm just trying to make a point that they're going to have to start going after some of the bigger fish in the pond that people want.

Does Scream Factory release horror-themed comedies?

The Burbs and Matinee from Universal, and High Spirits from MGM are some of my favorites.

Unless I missed something, I thought the Sony release of Urban Legend looked nice. Definitely a good improvement on the DVD.

Demon Knight would be awesome!

I'd love to see Lady in White, Tales from the Hood, May, Shivers (They Came From Within), The Stuff, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, The Day After.

You sir have good tastes.

The holiest of holy grail performances of a Rocky shadowcast took place last month in Charlotte (where Patricia Quinn, Little Nell, and Barry Bostwick showed up!) And Shock Treatment is still immensly popular with the Rocky crowd. Some even like Shocky better! [place gasp here].

Plus I want it! ...We need a little oooooh Shock Treatment.

I think Shivers might be released from Criterion at some point. It is my favorite Cronenberg movie.

I read that someone is doing a remake.

It depends on the size of the screen. I can easily watch DVD:s on my 42" plasma, but as my main setup for movies is projector with 92" screen, the difference in the resolution is just too much. At first I tried to watch DVD:s with the projector but as my eyes got used to the HD-resolution it became almost impossible to enjoy the DVD:s.

I don't think people take screen size into account when they say DVDs look as good as Blus.

I read that 40" TVs or larger are the size where you can see HD best. However some of us cant afford the $$$ or the room for a monster size TV

I've noticed. VHS-movies looked sharp and good with my 14" CRT. If I had settled for the 42" TV I surely wouldn't have sold my entire DVD-collection, because they looked fine on that screen size.

Projectors don't (necessarily) cost much and don't take room like monster size TV:s...

Probably. But given that I've only just upgraded to a 38.5 inch, I don't see me getting a bigger one for a long, long time!

Also, some are possible because they are with universal.

Urban legend I think is with Sony.

Ah right. How many blu rays do you own overall then? I honestly thought that you collected mainly horror. I haven't seen a specialised list like that on blu ray, most people on here have pretty electic tastes.

Don't underestimate my horror collection..
You've got a large number of blu rays in total so your horror collection doesn't stand out as much upon viewing your list but you do have a substantial amount it would see, no doubt.

From what i understand having spoken to a lot of people knowledgable about the benefits of 1080p and high definition in general, detail and clarity is dependent on WHERE you sit in proximity to your television. So if you've got a good 55 incher but you sit all the way towards the back in a large living room, you probably would be better off getting a 105 inch telly or something because you are not taking advantage of the benefits.

Trust me, a decent quality 40 inch LED or Plasma should be good enough for anyone in a small bedroom space since you're unlikely to be sitting far away.

As for the DVD argument, DVDs HAVE gotten significantly better in the last few years. Obviously nowhere as good as blu rays, but they are using decent masters on DVDs these days. I don't buy DVDs anymore and I own several that have not made their way to blu ray yet (original Pusher trilogy, In The Company Of Men, etc), and they are of varying degrees of quality, but ultimately, (good) blu rays on anything between 40 and 50 inches is gonna look fantastic.
