Maybe they should try shipping outside the US to sell more? I mean its 2014 why are they not? Arrow manage it.
Either they're not interested in having their product reach, could have a general hatred for non Americans? Or they're just small minded with business and to small time to try and be bigger?

OMFG. They are contractually (therefore LEGALLY) only allowed to ship to the territories they own the rights to the film in (Canada and USA).

They don't have "a hatred for non-Americans".

So why are UK labels whose releases are contractually region-locked, like MoC and Arrow, able to ship to the US? I was under the impression that the licensor couldn't sell the discs overseas (in stores), but that nothing stopped them from shipping said discs (to individuals, as opposed to stores). Or is it different in the UK?

I just picked up a used copy of Halloween II for $5.94 at FYE minus the slip of course but still really happy about that. The picture looks fantastic and has me interested in more from this company.

My 'future' and 'doorknob' pre-orders from Amazon are now correctly linked to Without Warning and Leviathan (respectively), so I assume I don't have to re-order them, or adjust my order? I wouldn't want to lose the Gold Box discount.

They don't. Retailers do. And as far as that goes, are you telling me you can't find one US blu-ray retailer who ships overseas? I don't think you've been looking all that hard.

Arrow and MoC sell directly on their storefronts (if that's the correct term).

You do realize you're quoting a post from almost two years ago, right?

I always wonder how much digging goes on when people quote random things that are years old like that. Do they bookmark quotes and wait for them to be proven wrong just so they can jump up ad say ha! Or do they really have no concept of how message boards work and think that every comment/post is fair game even if its located hundreds of pages back from the current discussion.

Quick question, I noticed on the scream factory website the preorder for Sleepaway Camp still says it comes with the limited edition poster with preorder. Does that mean that they're still available or is it something that they do not update? It's just outta curiosity, I put in a preorder for it on 3/18, fingers crossed for that damn poster

Not sure how often that is updated, but for older releases they have amended the listings to state that the poster is no longer included, so I'd wager there's a good chance you'll get one.

On a related note... I wish Scream factory had reproductions of the original theatrical one sheets instead of the newly designed artwork, if they included reproductions of the original art in 27x40 I'd pre order just about every title, but as it is I just don't have a lot of desire for new designs and small posters. I will say though that I do find it very cool they even offer them though, and am happy for the fans that enjoy them.

They regularly update the site and as soon as the posters sell out they edit the listing.

Scream Factory can't offer any poster prints for non-commissioned artwork because they don't own the merchendizing rights to the films (or the original posters). If the art isn't somehow included in the design of the package and product it can't be used/sold seperately. That's the reason they don't sell individual slipcovers, tees, solo posters etc.

I've yet to see Wedlock. Nighthawks is one of my favorite films. There's a great discussion of it and its various cuts in the wishlist section.

To everyone grousing about Shout! not shipping outside of their rights territory, stop. There are cheaper outlets for both the disks and the shipping than Shout! does or, in the case of international customers, would provide. They are small and, since it is illegal for them to make the disks for anyone outside of their rights territory, it is cost inefficient for them to put systems in place to do so. There is simply not enough demand for their boutique, region locked releases at this time. They have answered this at least a couple of times and the notion that they are too jingoistic to want to make more money is laughable. Shout! factory are American, damn it. We might hate you, but we don't hate your money.

Love that last bit.

It's just when we know Arrow are small with B locked titles that ship overseas its hard to imagine Shout are not capable. It must be a choice.

And as for cost. Shout seem to have coupons and sales, sales which are not on amazon or other retailers. I bet a few US posters have picked up a saving from Arrow direct and Arrow shipped direct.

Think it's fair to moan a bit. Guess the bright side is at least the Arrow discs are superior on the same titles. But shout do have a load of titles Arrow don't. I import from amazon or a few eBay sellers and price wise it's the cost including shipping of buying a title new from Arrow. I'd just rather be able to buy direct and take advantage of offers.
