If you read the book it's based off of, it's so much better, I do like the movie, however, because of it's low budget, they don't show any of the horror that made the book so horrify. It's still a good film, and will buy it, but I do want it remade (in a good way and not the shitty way)

It's very much like a 70's take on The Haunting, with its paranormal investigations of a house with a tragic past. Unlike that movie, however, The Legend of Hell House is completely devoid of ambiguity - it's all-out 19th century spiritism, and there's almost an air of authenticity to it, what with all the pseudo-science. If only that climax wasn't so talky.

In fact, along with "Deep Star Six", the rush of late-80's underwater-creature movies we got came from all the production news of James Cameron's "The Abyss", and producers thinking "Cameron's doing an underwater picture?--It'll probably be Aliens Underwater!"
(This one was relatively better, despite its goofed origins.)

Still my prime example of why not to automatically think a director is going to make the one movie you know him for over and over again.

I have the feeling an announcement is coming this week. Didn't they say they had one more they were thinking of doing in April? That didn't happen.

Also, Nightbreed details coming in July.

Not that I can recall. Originally there weren't supposed to be any announcements, and then they announced Pumpkinhead and Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings. They may very well hold off their announcements for the Killer POV podcast that's supposed to take place at some point this month.

I suspect that and their second 'birthday' will occupy the announcements for this month. This YouTube event for June might be their equivalent of past conventions where they announced a whole raft of titles. Who knows? Either way I expect we'll know the year's full slate by July.

I have a feeling you may be right. I'd be a little surprised if they had another Comic-Con panel scheduled this year. Last year, their announcements coattailed a panel with Adrienne Barbeau and they were hyping up the release of The Fog. I'm not seeing anything on this year's slate that has quite that level of fandom or recognition. This year's lineup skews more into deep cuts territory than big hits, IMO.

Speaking of Phantasm, on Amazon, Part 4 is now going for $74 new. Anchor Bay has almost certainly lost the rights.

The first is also like this, but only going for $17. The third is not, but I assume this is only because Amazon has a few left.

I'll chexk that book out, Wolfking, butI enjoyed the horror being off camera in this film. It's not what I want out of every picture, but here it really enhanced the suspense for me. Not unlike a little film called...

I liked Split Second myself, but it's with Warner through HBO.

I picked up Dead Shadows. I was surprised to see that it came with a slip and reversible cover art.

You talking the Rutger Hauer (spelling?) one? Love that also Wedlock and Salute the Jugger.

Wouldn't mind NightHawks either but doubt that falls under this label?
