Ravenous? and by total crap, do you mean it looks worse than DVD quality? Having never owned the movie, I'm legitimately asking since you saw the BD and not just caps.

Thanks!

The transfer is great, a huge step up from what I saw on TV a few years back.

Watched Beneath over the weekend. That movie had some of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen in a movie. I found most of the tension came from the stupid decisions that each character made, and in the end I think I was rooting for the fish (or maybe it was the closing credits) more than the characters. So far, of the Chiller movies, I think Cockneys vs. Zombies was the best one. Dead Souls was terrible, and Beneath was only slightly better. Haven't watched Chilling Visions yet.

Scream has some really decent discs (from beyond being a favorite), but too often they coast on the goodwill of the titles themselves and the extras produced. I couldn't care less about extras if the main feature quality is subpar, but they've essentially stated that they won't do much of anything to fix up poor transfers given to them because it's not economical to do so. I see their point, but i'm not going to spring $20 for ravenous on blu when they're likely using a 15 year old master from fox, just like twilight time & titus.

As far as compression, that's all on them. Fix that shit.

I don't think Cockneys vs. Zombies is part of Chiller Films.

Didn't realize that. I thought all of the new and independent titles were part of the deal with Chiller.

I'm just curious if I'm the only one who switches the blu ray from the left side of the case to the right side of the case whenever a new scream combo pack arrives? My OCD activates whenever I see that and it's the first thing I do followed by reversing the cover art. Just got sleepaway camp. Gonna watch it with the wife tonight. She likes this one more then me. It's one of the reasons I married her. She has fine taste in film.

That makes 2 of us . The right side of the case in a combo pack is the MAIN disc hub so the premium format disc belongs on the right side. Actually, I've switched cases more than a few times to single disc cases since I don't want a DVD "tainting" the release, lol. I do all of this in the spirit of fun, of course

First thing I do, too. I always put the blu-ray on the right and the DVD on the left. I also reverse the cover art for all of the Collector's Editions so that it's different from the slipcover.

Me too.

Always struck me as odd that Scream puts the BD on the wrong side of the case.

I recall the ONE time I forgot to make the switch. It was my second viewing of a movie and I couldn't understand what had happenned to the picture. I actually watched about 10 minutes of the movie while muttering, "What the heck happened...I remember the picture being good the last time I watched this?". Yeah, you know what happened.

I do it too. The DVD always get put in the left side behind inserts and such like other combo packs. The only difference is I switch the cover art first.

Checking the Scream Factory thread to find discussion that people are moving the blu-ray disc from one side to another is clear enough indication for me that I haven't missed any announcements this weekend.

So disappointed to see/hear about Ravenous, Scream Factory really needs to be more respectful of their fans.

I do it all the time.

I also try to keep the blus on the bottom, when they "stack" four discs on two hubs. I tell myself it'll stop them from scratching. I hate it when they stack them like that.

I'm not that anal. Never even noticed about the blu being on the left side. Who cares? I only flip the artwork.
