Come on people, show us your COMPLETE Shout collections
I have my Scream and Shout stuff side-by-side

Scream CEs -> Other Screams -> Corman line -> Other Shouts

Wow, what an odd question. Why are you asking him that?

I asked this in the DOLLS thread, but nobody answered. How long are the posters typically available? If I preorder DOLLS from scream within the next week is there anyway of knowing if I'll get a poster?

It's not meant to be taken as disrespect. He or any of you can do whatever you like. I am just curious what most SCREAM buyers really buy their films for.

That's like asking a steelbook collector if they collect steelbooks for the movies for the packaging. Or slipcover collectors.

He wasn't insulting, give him a break. He just doesn't understand that level of collector impulse. Most people don't. I certainly don't! As long as he's not being disrespectful there's no need to get defensive.

To answer your question Goldensuitcase, no, they don't love all those films, they are collecting them to collect them.

Well some people collect. And other people worry about other people's collecting habits

Did you buy Green Lantern because you "love" it, or was there some other motivation? You can take that as either a serious inquiry, or as put-down to your taste and/or buying habits.

I don't mind the question (though I do mind people thinking they can answer for me).

There's a couple I wouldn't buy again if given the chance (The Island, Ninja III, Nosferatu). The rest I've been happy with, some more than others. I'd say it's about 75/25 as far as film quality vs collecting goes. These films helped me get deeper into horror than I ever thought possible. Though, it's true I probably wouldn't have bought some of them had they not come out through Scream. But, that would've been a huge mistake because I would've missed out on some damn entertaining films.

I'm just saying don't be surprised or offended when people don't understand buying a movie you don't love. To the vast majority of the planet that seems weird. I don't think he meant any insult, he was just baffled by the idea of it.

I'll admit it's a tiresome question.

Oh and do you know how many people own the entire Criterion Collection? That is truly something... especially since their films vary much more than Screams line. With Scream if you like horror films you will enjoy most of their output...with Criterion I feel there is a lot of buying just for that 'C'.

I actually enjoyed that movie. I only have a few I don't enjoy but those were either blind buys or because of a b-movie fest I had or something similar.

That's definitely a much deeper rabbit hole to find yourself in.

My fantasy goal would be to own every sci-fi film and show ever made, though obviously that will never happen. I love the genre so much I want to own as many significant ones as I can though. If there were a "Sci-fi Factory" I would probably try and own them all. Scream Factory has some sci-fi stuff but not THAT much.

I buy every classic Doctor Who release, even though many of those stories are utter shite.

A lot of us have something we want to collect.

So true, I love collecting Spaghetti Westerns, even the ones that aren't so hot. On second thought though I pretty much enjoy them all, even the second and third tiers.
