I just placed an order for this Blu-ray, along with Black Sunday, Roger Corman's Piranha, and On the Beach.

I grew up watching The Legend of Hell House, so it'll be a good title now that I'm caught up on all of the existing Scream Factory Blu-rays that I want to own.
Have you read the novel? I highly recommend it if you haven't.

I read Richard Matheson's Hell House over a decade ago, and loved it. I should revisit it, though, because it's been so long.

I forgot, but was The Burning an all new transfer? Or was it the same one that MGM used?

I just finished watching The Island (1980). This movie stands up to my childhood memories, and it's a fun little Saturday afternoon flick. This movie is undeserving of the negativity that has been thrust upon it, and I applaud it for being an offbeat family film of sorts. An offbeat family film that would do Sam Peckinpah proud...hahaha.

Sorry guys but we need to delay our upcoming blu-ray release of TALES FROM THE CRYPT / THE VAULT OF HORROR. The double feature is now scheduled for 12/2/14 instead of its originally planned 10/14/14 date.

As you know, we announced this release with the goal of presenting VAULT uncut. That is still the plan but we have run into some challen...ges in our process. FOX (whom we licensed the film from) does not have this original footage in their vaults and because of this we are seeking some other avenues to try to find suitable source material. One route we have pursued has been to contact The British Film Institute (BFI) since there were rumors that they had restored the film. Unfortunately, we have learned that is not the case.

We love this film and we want to be able to say at the end of the day that we did the best we could with the resources/budget we have to make this the best release possible. We’ll keep you posted on our progress and thank you for understanding our situation.

Does anybody have the German ROTLD 3 Blu-ray? Can't find any reviews on this thing anywhere. I want to know if it's crap (or if it's the unrated version) before I take a chance on a copy. Thanks

IIRC, it's an upconvert.

Thanks - I'll stick to the DVD copy. I believe it's unrated at least. Somebody needs to wrangle this title away from Lionsgate's uncaring hands

I was finally able to watch WITHOUT WARNING last night (free shipping from amazon.ca now seems to mean 10 day shipping!).

I was surprised by the image quality. I had extremely low expectations based on some comments here but I thought it was really pretty darn good looking. As per the review here, it starts off a little rough and shadow detail is lacking in dark scenes. However, a big plus was the lack of oppressive digital manipulation. Specifically, I saw no overt signs of EE halos which plague many releases. All-in-all, I thought it was fine...no prize winner to be sure but nothing to complain about.

Let me also take this opportunity to apologize to everyone who was forced to look at men in 1977-80 wearing those David Caruso style short-shorts. I had the exact same type of shorts as shown in the movie. It was the disco era. We thought we looked cool. I'm sorry.

Just got Assault on Precinct 13 in the mail today from an Amazon seller and it had a slipcover! Happy about that. Love having the original poster underneath. Looking forward to watching this tomorrow when the Wife's away.

Silly question: are the single disc releases in Vortex cases (they have a latch where you open them) like the recent two disc releases have been?

I recently purchased the German mediabook ROTLD 3 Limited Edition and I can't get it to play in my slim PS3. I can access the menu, play the theatrical trailer, but the feature itself will not play. The back of the cover mentions Regioncode Free so I'm a little disappointed.
