Why? Death Race 2000 (like Humanoids and Piranha) is already on BD, and will likely be compressed to hell on one (?) DVD. Ditto the four titles already released on double-feature discs, which would also invariably look far worse squeezed onto one disc. I'm guessing the extras have been dropped as well?

Well, for Piranha and Up from the Depths, they are things I didn't particularly like a lot, and therefore don't need on BD. As for Battletruck/Deathsport, those would be blind buys (something I don't do with BD), and if there s something I already like included, it gives me more incentive to buy.

***LIFEFORCE News***

We want to alert you today that our “Collector’s Edition” release of LIFEFORCE (which came out in June of 2013) is now an out-of-print item and will be replaced with another version.

Here’s what will be different about the new product on all future pressings:

- The vintage “Making of Lifeforce” featurette will no longer be available.
- Artwork is slightly different: The original theatrical artwork (pictured here) is now front-facing, and the Justin Osbourn-created piece will be on the reverse wrap.
- We are removing the “Collector’s Edition” branding.
- Slipcover will not be offered.

Because of these changes, we felt it was only fair to also drop the price. The “Collector’s Edition” release had a suggested retail price of $29.93. The new version will be $22.97.

If you already bought the Collector’s Edition version – like most hardcore fans of the film did – then this strategy does not affect you except that the CE version is now more “collector-y” than before.

Additionally, this change-of-plans in unique only to this release. This is a special case that was unforeseen so please do not be concerned that this will happen on a regular basis with other Collector Editions.

Street date for the new, lower-priced version is set for 9/9.

Glad I picked it up when it came out then.

Wow, out of the blue my mom texts me, asking if I want the W. Herzog collection on BD for my birthday, which was pretty random. Nosferatu just happens to be the only Scream title I don't have too. Talking about it all coming together for me

Thanks for the link, but according to the wording of the article the Roommates/Woman for All Men release will be DVD-only. Also, I hadn't been familiar with either one, but they look to be straight-forward sexploitation, which makes them a curious choice for a traditionally horror label like Gorgon.

Almost every movie out there is better than Plan 9. The real question is whether Food of the Gods II is as popular as Plan 9? The answer is: Not by a mile. Plan 9 is being famously known as "the worst film of all time" which, ironically, helped him to gain popularity and large cult following among the cinephiles. Plus, it's not fair comparison since it was released on blu-ray by a different company. Different company - different policies, priorities etc.

And Plan 9 isnt the worst film of all time.. now its just a moniker. Mesa of Lost Women and Manos are IMO, way worse.

i really enjoy plan 9, so i have never liked the "worst film of all time" plug. crap, twilight is worse by a metric tonne. i have watched plan 9 MANY of times, and was glad to finally retire the DVD for the Blu-Ray i originally saw Plan 9 on VHS when i rented it from hastings in the summer of 2000. there was a band i was really into, and they wrote a song about the movie, so i checked it out just because of that. i knew nothing of its history or reputation, so i was able to appreciate it for what it was, without opinion or conjecture influencing me. i still like to stick it in every now and then, because it is just a fun romp

One modern title I would love to see Scream release is Dead Silence. Great movie and James Wan's name makes it marketable. I'm really shocked it still doesn't have a bluray release. I can see the amazing artwork now.

Even though it was a good movie, I'm guessing Universal never released it on blu because it bombed at the box office. I would buy it for sure if Scream released a CE.

Wan's Death Sentence is also MIA on blu in the US.

I can't seem to find any info about that film. Do you have any more information about it? Does it have any alternate titles?

It would be epic if SF releases Urban Legends Final Cut and Bloody Mary on blu-ray.

I was thinking maybe Warning Sign, which is a Fox title so is a realistic candidate should Scream go for another deal with Fox.

Yeah but you would think they would try and capitalize on the fact that his last three films (all very similar to Dead Silence) were huge hits.
