I keep getting a technical error whenever I add anything to my cart. I had several items and wanted to add a few more then everything was gone and the cart is busted. Must be to screw with the people going for lithographs.

I have had mine ordered for awhile now, I was just curious if anyone had received a shipping notice.

After watching it I think I can say that the new Pumpkinhead Blu-Ray looks and sounds amazing IMO.

I wrote a couple of words about Pumpkinhead in the dedicated thread, and I think that it is an excellent Scream Factory release. I spent several hours going through all of the fun extras and watching the movie itself twice. The picture quality is impressive.

So does anyone know if SF is doing anything about the issues a lot of people seem to be having using those fake item coupons? I had $10 off, but being the indecisive person that I am, it took me a couple hours to decide what to order. When I was ready to checkout the page refreshed and told me that the $10 off item was no longer available. When I try to add it back in it says that it is no longer available. The fact that the item is still listed makes me think that the promotion is still active.

The promotion is supposed to be until the 21st (according to their site), hopefully they figure out the issue and startsworking again soon.
But YES! The EXACT same thing has happened to me. I had it, I was indecisive, decided to go for it later and now it doesn’t work haha.

Movie Stop is selling a lot of the older Scream Factory titles for $17.99 on one of their sale racks now.

When I was in the store during lunch break, I broke down and bought Halloween II for this sale price. This one still had the cool slipcover and all.

The clerk helpfully notified me that the massive Halloween box set was on the way, but I have no desire to own anything after the first two or three movies.

I initially stated that I only needed to own the first movie, but I've had a hankering to revisit the second movie (I last saw it back in eighth grade!). I like how the second movie wraps up the Michael Myers storyline with a nice little bow (as far as I'm concerned).

This store did not have Halloween III, but I might grab that one later on if I see it at another Movie Stop, because it's a trip of a movie all its own.

Aw lame. I guess the coupons were limited. They should have said that, then I would have made up my mind faster!

They said on their facebook page that they'll be putting more out "next week". Hopefully it's before the sale stops.

EDIT: Scream wrote that their sale will still be going on when the next round of coupons are out!

Oh man, I'd do it. The ultimate Halloween 'trifecta'.

As much as I love you breaking away from Criterion and sampling Scream Factory titles, you do have me a bit worried about the gowing size of your collection... In all seriousness though, I enjoy your posts - so thank you for being around.

This is sort of how I roll...

When I finished buying all of the back catalogue Criterion Collection Blu-rays that I wanted to own, I started buying Olive Films Blu-rays. When I finished buying all of the back catalogue Olive Films Blu-rays that I wanted to own, I started buying Twilight Time Blu-rays. When I finished buying all of the back catalogue Twilight Time Blu-rays that I wanted to own, I started buying Scream Factory titles.

Now that I've pretty much bought all of the back catalogue Scream Factory titles that I want to own, I can pretty much level off. Yeah right...

There are a lot of gaps in my Scream Factory collection, and there always will be, because I'm not a completist when it comes to Scream or any of the above studios, but those are all films that do not really quicken my pulse or hit my 1980s nostalgia sweet spots.

That's the cool thing about Scream Factory. I was really into horror during my childhood back in the early 1980s, and I used to love reading issues of Famous Monsters magazine circa 1981-1983. A lot of the Scream titles that I've purchased are the ones that registered on my radar back then when I was an elementary school kid and reading elaborate Famous Monsters articles about movies that I was too young to see at the time. I still remember owning a Famous Monsters issue with Swamp Thing on the cover.

Watching my fourth Scream Factory title of the month for the first time (after Monkey Shines, Halloween (07), and Q). It is Halloween II ('09).

This film makes no sense. It makes one of the last film's two likable characters a complete and utter dick. It makes the bland Laurie a screaming she-b!tch, the likes of which I have never seen before. Most of her lines are just "f*ck" and "Waugh". It's really annoying. Speaking of annoying, every new character. The runtime is also an issue. Half an hour could have been cut out with no problems to be had plot-wise. Way worse than even the worst of the original series (Resurrection and H20).

By the way, this is not me hating on Rob Zombie, as I actually liked the first film, and really liked The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

Idk about Resurrection, that movie is REALLY bad. If it weren't for Busta Rhymes amazingly awful one-liners it would have been a complete disaster. Its a toss up for me because RZs H2 had some interesting ideas, it just failed to implement ANY of them in an interesting way.

Yeah, a Scream Factory or Criterion release of a movie I want might get me a little more excited, but in the end I have to want to own the movie. No amount of features, special care or distributor loyalty would ever get me to buy a movie I don't love.

It's one of the reasons I refused to buy the Halloween complete set. I only love the original movie and it's 1981 sequel. I also liked the Rob Zombie remake, hated that one's sequel.

I've seen all the others over the years, didn't care for any of them.

I still think Resurrection is better than H20. At least Resurrection knew what it was and had fun with its awful premise...

I'm curious, whats your opinion of Halloween 4? Its my third favorite film in the franchise behind the first two movies (and the gap between it and H2 is getting smaller as time goes by)

After only seeing bits and parts of part 4 growing up (I was never much of a fan of the Halloween series until a few years ago) I finally watched all of part 4 on Monday afternoon, and I really liked it. It ranks up there with the first 2 and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I was expecting much worse for sure.

I watched the Scream Factory disc of Halloween II (1981) last night, and this was the first time that I've revisited the movie since I was in eighth grade back in 1985!

Despite the fact that almost three decades have passed since that last viewing, I'm surprised at how much of this movie I still remembered. The scene with Laurie, Myers, and the nurse in the hallway is still one of the greatest kill shots of any slasher film.

There's a noticeable dip in quality from the first film to this second film, but I still rank this second film pretty highly in the overall pantheon of slasher cinema.

The reason for my statement yesterday about these first two being the only two Myers films that I really need (I mean, I like most of them, but I only feel an actual need to own these two.) is because both Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence are featured. Pleasence really added so much gravitas to the proceedings.
Incidentally, if you want to see another Donald Pleasence film that will really get under your skin, then watch Wake in Fright.

I like that Lance Guest (The Last Starfighter) has a cool role in this film. I love Pamela Susan Shoop's nurse character, as everyone does, but Tawny Moyer's nurse character gives this film its finest moment.

There are a ton of extras on the Halloween II disc, so I'll go through them tonight.

I'm going to seek out Halloween III as well, but I would have preferred for that film to have simply been entitled, "Season of the Witch." It's a cool and offbeat horror flick on its own terms, but its inclusion in the franchise throws a lot of folks off.
